ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Im content in the knowledge after watching them today, they aren’t good enough to win anything of consequence.

Have been found out, squeeze the space between midfield and defense and shut down their full backs and you may as well be playing Huddersfield.

Glad we are only 4 months into a new regime.

In good news, it’s the hope that kills you and they are in for some disappointment.

I´ll be a lot happier when they start dropping points like they should be. Going forward they are really struggling right now but they´re churning out results somehow. They´ve got Burnley and Bournemouth next and they´ll probably do just about enough to win both those games as well.

I feel like one of the average sides needs to take points off them soon. It can be done if they´re well drilled defensively.

I think it’s in the post tbh, teams have cottoned into to them now, today convinced me that Utd are going to take points off them shortly.

Be pretty confident we will do a job on them at home as well.

I would share your confidence against any other team following that today but we know the way it works.

The other thing is as well mate is, they will deffo you would imagine spend big next season, and those players could click for them, we could easily see ourselves still way behind them and playing catch up.

As you say though, it's heartening in the knowledge they won't win anything of note.

I think we are in different cycles of recruitment to be honest. Recruitment is subjective, for example a midfield they spent 150 million on 110 of that in the summer was bossed by a midfield of a loan signing and 7 mill accusation from Villa.

You look at Spurs, they find it hard to find players that make a difference, but aren’t as good as City that how it is going to be with Liverpool. Liverpool tried to buy a new midfield in the summer and it hasn’t worked they are Milner and Henderson most weeks.

Comes a point you can hit a glass ceiling with improving your team and you need to cough up trophies before your best players Salah, Mane look at brighter lights Liverpool are three years into that cycle.

For us I think we are about 15% into our building cycle, our best players aren’t even here four months and you sense more transition is to come.

In short I think we are further away from the glass ceiling then they are.

They've got City in mid January. At worst that'll be the moment they're punted from the 'title race' for good.

the only worry for me is the get knocked out of the CL and have less games to play than City

Not sure it'll make much difference.

They should finish 3rd at worse. Even if Liverpool lose the first knockout stage and city go on to the final its an extra four games.
