ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Depending how far ahead they are in 1st come the derby the atmosphere will either be rocking or awful.

If they go into it a good 5-6+ points clear at the top I think Goodison will be zapped of atmosphere with that lot no doubt rubbing it in from the away end.

A slender lead or even below Spurs/City however and I think a roaring Goodison would put big pressure on them.

Would absolutely love us to beat them at GP and cost them the title.

From this point on this season will either be awful or hilarious.

It’s never a penalty in a million years and he’s gone down far too easily but there’s no way he gets banned for that. Not because of who he isnor who he plays for but because there’s contact on the shoulder. Anyone expecting retrospective action is going to be very disappointed indeed.

Niasse got banned with retrospective action for exactly the same thing, there was similar contact made on him and he won a pen. The view was that while there was contact made it was slight and not enough to have made him go to the floor, therefore conning the red to win the pen. Now, if Niasse gets retrospective for his, then the same should happen to Salah, I mean we’re always asking for consistency, or should it be one rule for Niasse, and one rule for Salah?

Answered yer own question there Lou methinks.

It’s going to be a long hard trek for us till May watching these lot steam through untouched
I'm starting to think that too. I have more faith in Spurs narrowing the gap than a City team that clearly cant hack being in a close race. All I can say about them is that it was a good job Guardiola's City had a huge lead built up early last season and didn't get the chance to tighten up and lose a lead. They are hugely disappointing as competitors.

I wont crown Liverpool champions-elect just yet. If they come out of the next two games with this lead in tact I'd concede that the writing is on the wall. However, if the lead is cut I'll feel that it's very much game-on, and they'd have to demonstrate a lot of mettle in the aftermath of seeing a lead reduced.

It's looking likely. HOWEVER, I'd like to see how they handled a situation where City beat them. That'd test their credibility to be champions. And there;s also the fact now that Spurs are most definitley in this race.

It's Liverpool's to lose. Absolutely. But beating Newcastle at home is different to facing Arsenal at home and going away to City.

I'm mentally prepared for their year to arrive. However, if I were them I;d be anxious about the next couple of games. VERY anxious. Because if the lead isn't the same as it is now at the end of those two games, that'll be the seed of doubt sown.

We need Klopp to get wound up about something, dodgy goals from Arsenal and City that beats the RS, Klopp throws one of his rants and loses it big style.

We need some intervention, that's for sure.

TBH, I think it has to be in the next week of games that Liverpool have to be pegged back or they'll get over the horizon pretty soon thereafter.

They are stronger than all other teams at this stage - in the sense that they have a balance of defence and attack. I'm also of the opinion though that it's harder to be front runner than in the mix or playing catch up, and that this isn't over.

You have to wait for Alan Shearer to say it was a dive before the FA have a look at it
