ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

I think the big difference this season with RS is their mentality, they are now able to grind out wins when needs be against the lesser teams, whereas last season they couldn't. That's the difference between them and City, City are bottling it, the RS will know see a point at City as enough, and they'll grind one out.

When City are in flow it’s very hard to grind anything out, the only way to get at City is to go toe to toe with them. If you think City are bottling it now, wait for the RS in a few weeks!

Obviously their defence has improved, I’m not sure how it’s improved so much though, as the only additions have been VVD and the Keeper and SteveO says they’re bang average.

Pipe down soy boy.

A normal amount of luck and they're outside the top 4. Just had decision after decision go for them.

On the Salah dive, he has to get a 3 match ban a la Niasse if the FA want to retain any sort of credibility.

Whats Soy Boy when its at home? Is that a racist saying by chance?

To say its luck and they should be outside the top 4 is crazy talk at the least. They are top currently due to having the best defence.

It's looking likely. HOWEVER, I'd like to see how they handled a situation where City beat them. That'd test their credibility to be champions. And there;s also the fact now that Spurs are most definitley in this race.

It's Liverpool's to lose. Absolutely. But beating Newcastle at home is different to facing Arsenal at home and going away to City.

I'm mentally prepared for their year to arrive. However, if I were them I;d be anxious about the next couple of games. VERY anxious. Because if the lead isn't the same as it is now at the end of those two games, that'll be the seed of doubt sown.

Had to google soy boy myself. I got a warning earlier for insppropriate behaviour.

Slang used to describe males who completely and utterly lack all necessary masculine qualities. This pathetic state is usually achieved by an over-indulgence of emasculating products and/or ideologies.

The origin of the term derives from the negative effects soy consumption has been proven to have on the male physique and libido.

The average soy boy is a feminist, nonathletic, has never been in a fight, will probably marry the first girl that has sex with him, and likely reduces all his arguments to labeling the opposition as "Nazis".

Dave you’re really starting to worry me. After telling us all not to worry, you’re now saying it’s likely!!!!
For all the reasons you’ve outlined in the past, the nerves, the pressure, the weight of expectation, there is absolutely no chance they will live with that. Even if the beat Arsenal. I have absolutely no doubt City will do them. 3 points behind before the FA Cup even starts. We’re talking about a team that probably been one the best teams in the history of the Prem. 3 points. Absolutely no danger whatsoever

Not a chance - it seems the media and the FA want this lot over the line more than anything this year...
Incidentally was watching a BBC breakfast review of the world cup this morning and they actually gave a mention of Salah's Egypt and in the same breath the BBC apologists cited his shoulder injury and named bogeyman Ramos as the reason for their poor tournament...
I nearly spat my rice-crispes out on disbelief.

Care to explain that @Steve0 ?

Genuinely unsure what you mean, or if it was a mispost even.

Moomin was trying to bully me. I mean he has zero chance but that was his aim when he referred to my August posts. Note the ironic use of 'football brains' and isolating me and one other poster. The other poster being someone moomin knows to have been on the end of unsavoury barbs, so he was trying to rally support in a fairly unpleasant way.

But yeah soz about whatever it is I did.

TBF none of my red mates have bragged at all yet.
They didn't even take the piss after Spurs bummed us.

Very out of character indeed.

No worries mate. It was a genuine question, as in, I didnt have a clue what it meant. But now I do.

I hope so mate. There is still a route back here, as I said. I think if City and Sours get nack to 3/4 points of them they get in their heads and it is defo game on again.

However, we have to remember that Liverpool have spent literall billions on players over the last 30 years and come up empty handed, and we have lived a charmed life seeing them sidelined as failures of the PL. It has to happen sometime and this is far and away their best chance.

If they're pegged back though I will take a much more positive view of the situation.

Because they had their arses handed to them after that nobhead slipping against Chelsea and then Crystanbul...they have a HUGE mental scar. It defo isn't humilty...they DONT do humility.

Lack of self belief is everything when teams are going onto a pitch. If they look at that Liverpool team and don´t think they can get anything then it´s game over before a ball is kicked. We´re desperate for an average team to take points off them. Gives everyone else a tactic to copy or at the very least the belief they can get a result.

Think we all need to come to terms with the fact that they're winning it. It's going to be unbearable.
