ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Looking grim now. I'm still hoping that being stretched in Europe will hinder them at some point but I didn't really consider City choking like this.

Just need Spurs to continue their current run of form to keep the pressure on, but with the ridiculous amount of game changing decisions going their way and their defence now looking solid it's going to take something remarkable to derail them.

Still, there is a precedent there so I will hang on to that glimmer of hope for now.

As Ferguson used to always say when he found himself in second spot - just to plant the seed as much as anything, the crafty old bugger - the leaders will have a slip at some point, just like City have now.

How they handle that will decide it.

For all decent football fans sake it might be a blessing in disguise if they did win it.
I sense their demand for success is at fever pitch and woe betide anyone who gets in their way.
I would not like to be a fan of the opposing team if or when they get beat and the realisation that they won’t win it sets in.
I’m sure they have some really nice people who follow them, such a shame an awful lot spoil it for them.

Good lead and deserve to be where they are. But Spurs look amazing and I hope they keep destroying teams. City will find form soon and give someone a hiding, hopefully in a game just into New Year. It is a good lead, but it is nowhere near being over. 'Above us only sky is being posted all over social media by the loveble RS believers, but I believe that SKY will be replaced by SPURS come May.

Weird player Salah. Stays on his feet when he should go down and goes down when he should stay on his feet. Maybe the FA are just evening it up; banning him is a favour to them just as banning Niasse was a favour to us...

Yes, it's a shame that the idiotic 99% of Liverpool fans spoil it for the decent 1%.

I'm not even a**ed about them winning the title. Finishing top of the Premier League once every 26 years is hardly an extraordinary achievement given how much money they've spent since its inception.

I'll definitely be spending the duration of May abroad, though. The stick we'll get will be unbearable, especially if they win the FA Cup and/or the Champions League on top of the title.

As long as Klopp's spell in charge doesn't turn into a Sir Alex-esque dynasty then I'm not that bothered.

It won't do.

Pep is a better manager with unlimited funds and he still can't turn City into a United-like force that Ferguson did

FFS, this is Tony Cascarino’s take on the Salah incident in today’s Times:

Was Mohamed Salahs dive against Newcastle Utd an example of clear and blatant cheating? Yes. He was hardly touched and of course it was not a foul, but as much as I don’t like it, the bigger picture is that Liverpool are fighting for the title and he is unlikely to be the last player to use a bit of kidology to get an advantage. It won’t be remembered down the line ....

Well that’s altight then as they are going for the title.

What Ferguson did will be damn near impossible to replicate nowadays - remember it took 4 years of patience and a once in a lifetime crop of worldcalss youngsters coming through all at the same time - now everything is reliant on money and keeping prima donna footballers happy.
This is exactly why if come May our loveable neighbours do manage their 29 year quest I just can't see what all their fans are praying for and a new dynasty happening - they will be 2018/19 version of Leicester

Special dispensation FC strike again - Imagine city doing the same thing next week to claim a 1-0 win - I'm sure them and the media would just laugh it up.
If the old saying about things equalling themselves out over the course of a season is even half-true then the RS are in for a torrid second half of the season.
