Sergio Ramos thread on RAWK

https://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=267103.0

Worth reading to see just how highly Glen Johnson was rated in those parts. More than one poster has him in their top 5 right backs, everyone pretty much agree he was better than Ramos, one giddy lad even cites his tardy signing as the sole reason they didn't 'walk' the league in '09.

The thread was bumped by a user called elsewhere, Micheal Shields perhaps?

world cup-itis, once it was obvious it wasn't dislocated I was really surprised he went off, he didn't want it bad enough

Correct mate. That;'s fair enough I suppose. He'd walk through a brick wall for Egypt and he sees Liverpool and their aspirations as not being a priority, especially if they threaten his service to his country.

If the Kopites are happy with that then that's ok.

Ha Ha Ha.

From "he's hopeless...let's all laugh at Ramos" to "I 'kin hate you Ramos - you master of the dark arts".

I bet one or two of their old school supporters made comment about this local lad Gerry Byrne who played almost all the '65 Final with a busted collar bone...no tears...no fancy shoulder sling - but he ensured their 1st F.A.Cup Trophy

Salah would still be in intensive care with that if he'd suffered it.

Everyone can see what happened: the big cry baby took a knock off a defender he tangled with and didn't fancy chancing his WC place with any more challenges.

In a way, it's hats off to him I suppose if he's saving his heroism for Egypt next month, but if you were a Kopite you wouldn't be too happy really. The feller walked off with a minor knock and (as far as they'e concerned) changed the course of the match. No - Liverpool supporters have every right to look at his demeanour now and think their hero had deserted them at the time they needed him most.

BTW, Alexander-Arnold: apart from that shot in the first 20 minutes the lad was worse than useless. Passing to the opposition in his own final third; the second and third goals came from his side when Marcelo's cross field passes picked out Bale; and Modric was just drifting across there and picking his pockets all night. Not for me. He's about on Baines' level now...and that's this Baines in decline.

Robertson is the real find there...as many of us said when he was with Hull. :coffee:
