ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

I bet one or two of their old school supporters made comment about this local lad Gerry Byrne who played almost all the '65 Final with a busted collar bone...no tears...no fancy shoulder sling - but he ensured their 1st F.A.Cup Trophy

.
th
I thought of the man right away when it began to emerge that Salah may not have suffered serious injury.
Gerry Byrne played in a "real " Liverpool side and vastly under rated.

Amazing! a russian journo turns up alive after being considered dead
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah will be fit to play some part in Egypt's World Cup campaign, his country says.

Salah injured his shoulder during Liverpool's Champions League final loss to Real Madrid on Saturday, prompting concerns he might miss the tournament.

and now Salah is not dead either!

Minimum (regardless of the advice of staff in attention) he should have tried to play on rather than just fall to the ground when stepping back on the pitch. Just walk himself into the game and jog and then walk for two/three minutes. If he had he'd have had discomfort, but what's transpired underlines that he wouldn't have been in danger of aggravating an existing bad injury.

It all comes down to this: how much did the player want it (or how much did the player feel up for the battle).

He declined the challenge and bowed out meekly.

Thats fair, if in the minutes after the incident, the pain subsided. But I doubt it did. Reason is, the shoulder is the conduit for tons of nerve endings in other parts of the body. So damage to a nerve in your middle finger, can cause really nasty sensations in your shoulder, and vice versa. Its a hugely complicated joint.

And all that is without factoring in letting him play on, and another fall makes the minor issue a bigger one. Seen that happen back in the day.

Yes, I accept that. But it does come down to how much the desire is on the night. The pain may/was intense, but you either weigh it all up and say: "I'm going for this and I'll give myself a way of easing into the game again", OR you decide that you want to cut your losses. I think he did the latter with the WC in mind.

BTW, that left hand is out in time and cushions much of the impact from the fall, so the pain came on the roll afterward. But the weight was not a massive trauma, imo.

Correct mate. That;'s fair enough I suppose. He'd walk through a brick wall for Egypt and he sees Liverpool and their aspirations as not being a priority, especially if they threaten his service to his country.

If the Kopites are happy with that then that's ok.

They're happy with their bottling manager opening up the champagne after losing a final, they'll be more than happy with whatever their best player does. We may have gone through some crap times but I praise the Lord that no player or manager will be too big for our club, the same cannot be said about them.

I thought after the final (what with their reaction) that as with Roma being happy enough to get to the SF, Liverpool were happy to reach the final and never felt they were in it or capable of competing. Apart from the half chance for Alexander-Arnold early on they were just second best all over the pitch and in all likelihood overawed with the proceedings.

Liverpool and their fan's attempt to blag the world they were at the top table was just a fake news story too far.

Ronaldo missed two sitters, isco hit the crossbar when he had 80% of the goal to aim for, couple of good saves from karius and that right back? Hit the side netting. And I only saw the highlights.

The bitters hit the post through mane, that was it. It could have been six or seven... But van dijk has shored up the defence, haha.

He could have been told he was coming off and had no say in it, we can only guess?

Still, none of it matters. Kopites will say the video is wrong, and after all, Sergio tried to kill him dude.
Klopp's conversation with him as he trudged off the pitch indicates that would not have been the case. Klopp looked bewildered at it all. Rightly so as it turned out.

When Salah is sprinting about and tumbling next week in training I doubt there isn't a Kopite anywhere looking at that and thinking they weren't short changed in that final.

Men against boys. The Kopites know it and cant even be arsed debating that point...hence they target two scapegoats like Ramos and Karius.

Missed it all cos was in a no signal area at the foot of Snowdon, could listen to City (or was it M/side) though so revelled in their commentary.
Saw 1st shirt wearer up the top of Snowdon on monday & said

"I've been out of signal for days & didnt see it, what was the score ?"

"Do you not know ?"

"Oh Yes... I know !!"

He wasn't impressed to be honest & neither was my Mrs.

the lad was laughing though.

Rawk are still defending Salad and blaming Ramos .. No amount of evidence will change that.

They have brought Steven Segal into it now, I kid you not.

Then, we have this whopper. He likes blaming others ha ha .. He writes a one point "journalists" and unemployed ex-footballers who need the Sky and ESPN gigs to keep the trophy wife in diamonds, mouthing the same inane platitudes" while ignoring that most ex-footballers on Sky and ESPN are ex Reds.

So 500,000 have signed the petition for action against Ramos. Good.

"That Ramos petition is embarrassing" says James Pearce.

Actually what is embarrassing, James, is your craven reluctance to call a spade a spade, and your eagerness to safeguard your job and career in "journalism" by toeing the football establishment party line, and riding the media gravy train.

But you are hardly alone. You are joined by an army of fellow "journalists" and unemployed ex-footballers who need the Sky and ESPN gigs to keep the trophy wife in diamonds, mouthing the same inane platitudes.

Here's the news, James: Ramos is a thug who deliberately set out to hurt an opposition player with a martial arts maneuver. He should have been red-carded immediately, and he needs to be banned from football.

But a corrupt governing body, their puppet referees, and a fawning media, will do nothing.

Is that clear enough for you? Now trot off and collect your month's salary.

We must be at fault for something because there were more banners about Everton at the final than any other club including the two playing so we must have done something to them. ‘We’re not bothered about der bitterz tho lad’ . Ok.
With regards to us been seen as bitter, I see our existence to be similar to that bit of grit that gets in your eye.
Quite simply the more you try to remove the cause, the more intense the irritation.
Suck it up you RS bells.

Salah did bottle it. Must have a low pain threshold like Sturridge.

And was he crying about missing the rest of the CL final or missing the World Cup?

I am sure PL defenders will be taking note of how to handle him next season.
