ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Salah apparently fit to play at the World Cup , it might not be the miracle of Istanbul but to recover that quick from what we were told was a dislocated shoulder might be running it close .

Salah would still be in intensive care with that if he'd suffered it.

Everyone can see what happened: the big cry baby took a knock off a defender he tangled with and didn't fancy chancing his WC place with any more challenges.

In a way, it's hats off to him I suppose if he's saving his heroism for Egypt next month, but if you were a Kopite you wouldn't be too happy really. The feller walked off with a minor knock and (as far as they'e concerned) changed the course of the match. No - Liverpool supporters have every right to look at his demeanour now and think their hero had deserted them at the time they needed him most.

If that was one of our best players not even being kept in hospital or even treated after going off crying after half an hour, imagine the posts on here. We'd blame him more than the defender for not showing much guts. Club before country. One of the many differences between us and them....thank God.

If an Everton player came off in a cup final...ANY cup final...I'd never see them in the same light again.

It's abundantly clear now that Salah walked off the pitch when he was nowhere near injured enough to justify it.

If (as the Kopites do) you think that the game changed when he went off then they must see this as the ultimate act of treachery. I would.

Said it before, until the shoulder was scanned, they didnt have a clue what the damage was. Happens is was minimal, but unless a physio has a scanner with his magic sponge, not much else they could do.

"The sight of Salah in tears as he left the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium pitch was extremely sad to watch. Only those with hearts of stone wouldn’t have felt sympathy for the 25-year-old at that moment."

I must have a heart made of granite because I was fist pumping the air at the sight of Salah crying as he walked off.
I definitely didn't feel pity, and I definitely didn't have heavy heart...so I guess mine must be made of a very light pumice stone.

Exactly. So you then have to go by what the player indicates. It just so happened that Salah's pain threshold was ridiculously low. In a CL final the adrenaline itself surging through you on the occasion plus the team spirit to get the job done should have seen him play on no bother.

Klopp at the final whistle was under no illusions: "It's serious; his WC is in doubt".

Turns out it wasn't and it isn't.

Now, any Liverpool fan would surely feel duped and robbed?

He could have been told he was coming off and had no say in it, we can only guess?

Still, none of it matters. Kopites will say the video is wrong, and after all, Sergio tried to kill him dude.

Nope. You deal with the medical issue when you know what it actually is. Shoulder injuries, even ones that end up being minor, are very painful at the time.

Remember Bryan Robson saying he was fine for the WC with a dodgy shoulder? Didnt last long.

Minimum (regardless of the advice of staff in attention) he should have tried to play on rather than just fall to the ground when stepping back on the pitch. Just walk himself into the game and jog and then walk for two/three minutes. If he had he'd have had discomfort, but what's transpired underlines that he wouldn't have been in danger of aggravating an existing bad injury.

It all comes down to this: how much did the player want it (or how much did the player feel up for the battle).

He declined the challenge and bowed out meekly.
