ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Liverpool statement

Throughout the last week, Liverpool Football Club, Merseyside Police, Liverpool City Council and Spirit of Shankly have worked together to consistently remind people that the region is still disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and ask people to celebrate LFC’s Premier League title win safely.

Several thousand people turned up at the Pier Head on Friday June 26 and some chose to ignore the social distancing guidance and risk public safety.
Our city is still in a public health crisis and this behaviour is wholly unacceptable.

The potential danger of a second peak of COVID-19 still exists and we need to work together to make sure we don’t undo everything that has been achieved as a region during lockdown.

When it is safe to do so, we will all work together to arrange a victory parade when everyone can come together to celebrate. Until that time, the safety of our city and our people continues to be our number one priority.
No mention of the mutants direct arson attacks on a listed building then.

Maybe it never happened.

No real condemnation amongst that set of weasel words.

Right now Metro Mayor, Liverpool Mayor and Merseyside Police should be banning any outdoor parade.

Let them have a ticketed event at Anfield for 30k in August for celebrating.

They aren't trusted in their own city and any other club would be tearing their fanbase apart for the culprits and condemning what happened over the last 2 nights.

To say it a few fans isn't an excuse, it's defection of guilt. All their fanboy sites call us for being on their high horse but they have try to defend these actions by throwing Hillsborough shouts to defend this. It's 101 Kopites Behaviour and it's sickening.

We are a club should be DEMANDING this.

This is very concerning as it will bring over 100k into the city from all over in around 4 weeks when we still are not out of the woods. Are the council this desperate for revenue? This cant be right

This was posted yesterday lunchtime mate.

After what they've done the past two nights on the spin any parade should be put to bed immediately.

They don't deserve one
