A lot of them do it to over compensate, it's too try hard to prove their Scousness even if they're from formby or somewhere, a little thing I've noticed over the last few years is some reds I know or at least work with also have an exaggerated accent, a bit like the Harry Enfield characters, all Scousers I know obviously have an accent but the ones with the high pitch squeaky 'aye aye' is not normal and seems forced and they're always kopites lol

Exactly - their low intelligence smoke and mirrors. They haven't the brains to realise people need a motive to do things, no matter how brainless, so their deflection would only be believed but somebody very, very thick - like another rs for instance.
