As you say, the '18 succesive wins' was over 2 seasons. This season and LAST season. So they had a 3 month break inbetween!
City's 18 wins were on the bounce. So they didn't equal the record at all.
It's amazing the lengths that some these guys will go to. It really is.

No, they failed to equal it over 2 seasons when drawing with Utd in October, then won the next 18, equalling the record beating West Ham in Feb, before getting stuffed by Watford.

So the record was indeed equalled.
