ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

#NoPlatformTheEcho

Not surprising in the slightest though is it?
Sing a song about them though on the very last day of the season when you have pipped them to the title and
are actually celebrating retaining the title and all hell breaks loose. A most arrogant, horrible, self entitled, snide bunch of a club and supporters you couldn't
wish to find.

No problem with that Bryan.

I just feel that at some point we as a fan base need to make it plain that their reportage on Everton is unacceptable. Just boycott the paper altogether.

#NoPlatformTheEcho

Man City fans made formal complaints to BT Sport about the same thing they were doing with City.
City fans started cancelling their subscriptions. They changed their tune rather smartish.
Their coverage of City went from totally unacceptable to just unacceptable. Its all relative I guess.

I'd love to see this forum, the largest Everton forum there is, make a stand against the Echo. I said earlier it would not be knee-jerk. The Daily Post a few years back received a lot of complaints from Everton fans and the editor of that paper had to publically respond.

Just a few days ago we had an Echo Everton correspondent calling Everton fans 'snides'.

It is just not on. That is the attitude they have to the supporters of a major city club and we have a lot of clout to pull them up and make them account for themselves.

Banning links to the Echo would get a message through to them.

%100 this

Links to the Echo should be banned, its just giving them clicks, which they live off, dont link them, dont Tweet them, just forget them and leave them to the reds

It's not just this incident though. If it turns out that it was a Blue who did it then we, as Everton fans, would collectively condemn the idiot.

If it was the other way round then the RS and the Red Echo would brush it under the carpet/blame Chelsea/make some T-shirts.
Its the same old story with that rag ...damage limitation/air-brushing fact for them all the time. Like I posted the other day, the young Liverpool/Yemeni Girl who was racially abused by one of two of them returning from Wembley (they couldn't get tickets there) last Sunday on the Euston train and the headline merely referenced a "Scouser" as the perpetrator in its headline. Sometimes its subtle....mostly glaring...patently obvious. Naïve though on their part as Evertonians see things as they are....not with rose tinted glasses.

Yeah, they openly make fun of us, its one thing Anfield Wrap doing that, but not a regional newspaper

Same in Manchester with the Manchester Evening News. Totally pro United and anti City.
However, I do have to say the Echo have taken it to a new level that is completely unacceptable
and needs to be somehow stopped. We have a few fans who are thinking about 'doorstepping' the
newspaper journalists when they arrive at the Etihad to pick up their press passes on match days.
Not sure it will help, but you can actually understand such actions when such reporting is just non stop,
day in, day out.

Harassing journalists is not normally the way to get them to write nice things about you...

Just ignore them. That's why the idea of No Platforming them is a good one. They dont respect us, so dont give them the oxygen of publicity.

Very poor from BBC R5L tonight having a contribution from Melissa Reddy saying we weren't good enough for Zaha.

Opinions are fine, but as an aside from her role on ESPN she is a regular contributor on The Anfield Wrap, including her background sniggering at us when some of the more vehement cultists are in full blown attack.

This is the same as Tory plants being put on Question Time. I'm sick of this with football media, if people like her are to be given airtime the context of their clearly established bias should have been made clear from the beginning. She can't possibly espouse a neutral view on anything given her paycheck depends on continuing sychophancy from kopites. One misplaced comment and her Twitter account and number of followers gets eaten alive in seconds. If she is lucky. She could think we would be a great move for Zaha but can never say it. Everything must be couched in pro Liverpool and anti Everton language yet this passes as normal in mainstream media.

Weird how there's been no real mention of the fact they've not brought in any new players. They've had no big sales to fund it obviously but they'll be farther behind City squadwise than last year.
I recall it being said last summer that Klopp had been told that Alisson would have to come out of the 2019/20 budget, due to them already spending significantly on van Dijk, Keita and Fabinho, but I'm still surprised that they didn't do any real business at all.

He's been very quiet about it, so I'm guessing that he's waiting to see whether or not he'll be able to spin it as them 'doing things the right way' if they make another flying start, or if it's going to be something to snipe about if they end up falling behind City.
