ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

thankfully the picture sub appears to have more sense, given this is the picture they've used to compare the Keane - Haaland challenge with:

how hasn't Pickford's ankle gone there by the way?
So I'm looking at that, both players have gone for the ball and missed, both stretching for it and their legs tangle. Its not like Pickford plants his boot into VD's knee or anything, VVD's leg is quite visibly between Pickford's. Its a tangle and quite rightly not a red card. Unfortunately for one of them, there's too much strain on one ligament and poof, he's injured. It happens.

If it doesn't involve a key liverpool player this incident is already forgotten about by the media...now the media are making a massive deal about which does 2 things..

1. Liverpool players will be protected for the rest of the season like no other team...just watch the red cards in their games for any hard challenge on a liverpool player....

2. We'll be painted as a dirty team, and refs will give more decisions against us
Unfortunately, I can see this happening as well; also the rs sympathisers in teams we now play will be on the wind up from the first whistle. Expect James to be targeted and roughed up; we need to be aware of these possibilities.

I would love players to start sueing papers / likes of talksport hosts for libel.

Would put an end to all the shock jock BS thats filled the papers whenever a decision goes against one of the media darlings.

Would love us to keep a clean sheet sunday and Pickford shush the camera.

Dont like the lad myself but he's getting unfair stick by absolute tossers in the media who think they are untouchable

Only it’s not libellous if they’re merely giving a subjective opinion on something that actually happened, however misguided that opinion might be.

Agree to an extent mate but when you have a national paper claiming it was as bad as a near career ender challenge that the perpetrator (Keane) admitted on record was pre meditated then the insinuation is there for me that Pickford set out to try seriously injure another person.
