Wasn't it in connection with injuries in a heavy schedule, which is exactly Klopps point here that five subs would help alleviate some of it, Wilder saying the five subs rule helped the big boys more than the lesser teams.

Wilder needs all the help he can get and denying any better equipped opponents a perceived advantage has to be justified from his point of view. The poor lad is still in denial about second season syndrome despite sitting rock bottom with one point from a possible thirty.

They were discussing the seeming amendment to how VAR is being used and saying that VAR would not have got involved in decisions like the Brighton penalty a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, upshot was that the commentators declared that it shouldn't be changed mid-season. That is, we should go with how we started the season.
Of course, they didn't say that a change to 5 subs mid-season was wrong.

Whats the latest? I doubt it's got anything to do with that tackle by the way, and they said he was fine after it. It's more likely to do with him being a crock, who can't hack the intensity of the PL, like some of us predicted. 200k p/w basic, maybe up to double that in incentives for what was it, a 3 or 4 year deal. Add in 30 million on top on the fee. They've been absolutely had.

I'll make a prediction the lad wont get getting either 10 league goals or assists this season.
