ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Whats tha latest? I doubt it's got anything to do with that tackle by the way, and they said he was fine after it. It's more likely to do with him being a crock, who can't hack the intensity of the PL, like some of us predicted. 200k p/w basic, maybe up to double that in incentives for what was it, a 3 or 4 year deal. Add in 30 million on top on the fee. They've been absolutely had.

I'll make a prediction tge lad wont get getting either 10 league goals or assists this season.

I've just seen. It's all very odd to me. Klopp's comments are off. Saying he trains "sometimes" which is really unusual. I'd be much happier if they had diagnosed the problem and were dealing with it.

A load of their ITK's were saying he was fit before the last set of internationals and would definitely play Leicester, which again shows the amount of blag, dishonesty and ack of humility that come from that fanbase really.

There's no way that there was that much damage done from that tackle. There are other issues lurking in the background here, given he has trained again as well since then.

I'll throw a couple of thoughts in. I would suggest there are wider issues here. Bayern don't let good players leave easily. I appreciate the 200k basic (plus upwards of that again in bonuses) in terms of demands would have been prohibitive (though he'd likely have taken less to stay at Bayern than have to join Liverpool) but I do wonder if there are wider issues in terms of his body that were flagging up in allowing him to leave.

Secondly, if he is out, best case scenario until early January (which seems best case scenario) that will be 1 start and 1 substitute appearance he has made since September. With no pre-season to add in. If he gets himself fuly over injuries, given it's basically 4+ months out how long is it going to take him to be fit enough to regularly start matches wirthout breaking down? Probably not far off that again. The season could become a write off.

I said a while ago, if Klopp had any sense, the moment he was ready to be match fit, he would send him to the 23's and have him do a 2 month bespoke pre-season to get the "miles in the legs". He won't do that though, because the mans a menace and his reckless choices are now plaguing his next club with injuries.

Yeah - nothing to disagree with there & they have previous in a similar vein. Shaqiri was a mystery injury last year who never returned.

One thing to note; he has had Covid, granted it is speculation, but I would wonder if there is a recovery issue there that they dont want to go into.

Who knows what is going on, but what is undeniable is that Richy starts to pull out of the tackle in the derby game. Don’t get me wrong it’s still a bad tackle, it’s still a red card, but the impact was nowhere near enough to cause this type of injury to keep him out for that long. I mean he played on after the tackle and looked fine! I could understand some swelling or bruising to the shin or knee that needed time, maybe a minor bone in the shin had broken at worst, but there’s been no diagnosis at all. It’s gone from ‘he’s had a scan and will be fine, might play the next game’ to ‘we can’t put a date on it’. Something odd going on with that.

Funny you say that. Some red in one of my whatsapp group mentioned long covid with him. I thought it was in gest. I mean who knows. You hope not, as your lung capacity is fairly critical to be a top level footballer. Something isn't right with that situation though.

Yes to all of that really. Richarlinson should have gone, and it was a mindless and stupid tackle (that has actually derailed our season, had he played the next 3 I suspect we are at least 3 points better off, quite possibly 6+). However he did pull out at the end and it looks an impact injury more than any really damage.

I mean, if there was ACL/MDL damage (which judging by the inpact would be highly hghly unlikely) it really should have been picked up by Liverpool, and in the intervening two months he should have gone for some surgery or whatever. He certainly shouldn't have carried on playing and then been training. I really see that, but if damage has been done to the ligaments, they have made the situation far far worse by not resolving it afterwards and having him train, seemingly on an as and when basis on it.

I just wonder if something has flagged up for Bayern and it's why they let him leave. But if he can't do a job for Bayern, basically just sitting and spraying balls in a much easier league, he is not going to be able to cope playing for Klopp in the PL.

i just had a flick through twitter and the commentary, as you say it's a bad challange and his knee hyper-extends, so he is probably lucky if he hasn't any ligament damage. As you rightly pointed out, the handling of it is bizarre, although someone pointed out that Liverpool have not officially confirmed the injuries to gomez or Van dijk; other than they both had knee surgery.

He may well be a crock, he may well have had a bad covid dose or it's a result of Richarlison tackle, but either way its another blow to them.

It does a bit, but not majorly. And I mean he kept playing afterwards and Klopp has openly stated, both today and in other press conferences he is training. I mean if he has done ligament damage, and they haven't sent him off to fix it, instead kept him training, that is grounds for gross neglect in this day and age.

I really really can't get on board with the idea that he's done his ligaments. Say what you want about Liverpool, but they have competent people working for them in the medical department. No way they make that sort of basic mistake and essentially cause a key asset major complications on an injury?

i'd agree and apologies - I wasn't trying to suggest he has ligament damage, more from the tackle he is probably fortunate he didn't.

In relation to the Brighton Liverpool game, when Williams gave away the first penalty did anyone notice the RS cheat acting as if he was injured. He then had a sneaky look to see if he had gotten away with it.
I didnt watch the game so I havnt seen the incident, but that is a trick Suarez always did, put a tackle in, scream and pretend to be injured. He even started limping after biting Ivanovich iirc.

Or it's the same injury Nathaniel Clyne had...

I really dont think the tackle is likely to cause ligament damage. As has been noted, he pulled out. I suppose if you're made of cheese and are injury prone maybe it is? Who knows!
