ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Klopp is a tit but on the other hand that’s what winners tend to do. Any club darrs takes points of them they are fire and brimstone in the media. All managers going for the title have done it over the years. Ferguson would be getting refs and pundits sacked with his fury after some games. Clubs like us go 5 games without a win and you don’t hear a peep from us.

This is true and Mourinho was the master as well. The difference is, I think Mourinho/Ferguson it was an act. They never lost sight of the concrete reality they existed in. I can imagine them walking into the dressing room and having a laugh about it to players.

Klopp seems overcome by this. And is increasingly picking fights with too many people. He seems to have lost focus to me, and the results seem to show that out.

I know they've got a few injuries, but the team against Leicester cost close to 350m quid. It was still an excellent team. The one on Saturday had more than enough to defeat a poor Brighton team, yet they were a missed penalty away from losing that as well.

In amongst a piece in the Athletic that sought to try and exonerate Klopp's tantrum about Saturday scheduling of PL games after Euro games is this:

In addition, one sleep specialist told The Athletic that caffeine supplements have been used more frequently by players since football returned behind closed doors as a way of replicating the kick or adrenaline boost that may usually come from supporters in the stadium. Caffeine promotes muscle recovery but also disrupts sleep. Sleep is important for footballers as it reduces the risk of injury. In one study of high school athletes, it was found that individuals who slept less than eight hours per night on average were 70 per cent more likely to record an injury than those who slept more than seven hours.

There isn't a team in the league that cane's their caffeine intake more than that lot. They are guzzling it down before games and at HT during games, and in recovery after games. Caffeine, remember, is an ever present in WADAs monitoring list of illicit drugs in sport.

These injuries are entirely of Klopp's making. He knows it and he knows he has to continue the regime in order to try and stay competitive. THAT is the source of his frustration, just as it was at Dortmund.

This feller was understanding of Lance Armstrong for a very good reason - he too looks to use substances to get an edge and keep it.

Caffeine in all forms was removed from WADA lists in 2004 - you're spot on about the sleep risks mind

If that is the same Steven Klopp that rings up Talksport in the evenings then he is an absolute loon, he reckons he knows more than any other LFC fan on the planet and has even rung up having a go at other fans for not been obsessed enough. This all despite the fact they got it out of him finally one night that he has only ever been to the pit twice in his life, he is your typical LFC armchair gobsh!te.

Mirallas took ages to recover from his stamp from Suarez to get back to where he had been. Ask Ben Mee whether he’s ever got back to where he was before VVD laid him out. They’re quite happy to go around physically dominating teams throwing wild tackles around, forearm smashes, stamps, and the second someone dishes it back out to them they’ve spent months crying over it. There was one derby that Trent could have had three red cards for wild tackles and deliberate stamps yet nothing was even mentioned because the media’s favourite team had won.

He's a right whining little virgin him as well. Going on on another comment about how stressful it all is for him.

We are in the midst of a pandemic, people are being laid off left right and centre, homelessness soaring, kids have got no food, Nurses and doctors are working 14 hour shifts day after day for weeks on end (because bellends like him no doubt ignored the lockdown to needlessly celebrate sport) and all he can go on about is how stressful life is for him because they signed an injury prone player who is now injured. It's absolutely pathetic and the guy needs a large dose of perspective.

Rather than being and rate hack all your life Joel, why don't you go and contribute something worthwhile to society and go and help in a foodank or whatever. Actually go and see what the country is facing and you'll soon get some perspective of where your little existential angst fits. Jumping on the bandwagon of supporting a team in a city hundreds of miles away that you have no connection too doesn't change the fact you are a typical mediocre man, who contributes nothing of value. Go and do something of merit with your life for once rather tahn whining about how "sickening" and "hard" it is that the bandwagon you've jumped on is not going as smoothly. You're still the same loser you were before you jumped on the bandwagon, so don't worry its no comment on you whatsoever.

I thought that. Interesting the Athletic are reporting that some clubs are now potentially using it.

I mean, I would have said it was a pretty terrible idea in honesty if you want to have any long term success.

What annoyed me more infinitely more than the way Klopp went on was the pundits in the studio disowning the reporter and going out of their way to let it be known. As if they could feel the Liverpool backlash.

that’s some power to be competing against. To turn a mainstream independent broadcaster into your bish.

One of the 10 positive tests from today.

If proven to be true, questions must follow as to why so many of the murder Inc squad seem to be contracting the virus - they seem to have had a load of positive tests?!

What are they up to?

I mean you would ask questions about how sterile they are keeping the environment and how far they are following the rules. This is especially so after Salah's conduct. I mean did he get suspended for any matches by the club for that? Sets the wrong tone really.

knowledge is somewhat limited, but I know plenty of players guzzle the likes of red bull, even caffeine supplements as the go out on the pitch. Jamie Vardy always has a can in his hand as he walks onto the pitch

Have you noticed something a little off?

VAR has been a talking point now since August last year.

However it seems the likes of BBC and the rest are now only interested in Kopite opinions on the matter. Since Saturday when it went against them again we have had milner Henderson and now Robertson's thoughts on the matter. They keep trying to get a quote from klopp.

It's painfully obvious what's going on

Is it a can of red bull? I mean they will have top scientists and nitritionists advising them but Id say building a dependency on caffeine is not sensible. It will also affect your sleep.

They want rid of VAR so they can go back to the days of bullying refs and having every decision go their way. Didn’t VAR change hands this summer from IFAB to FiFA (or maybe the other way round?) in order to bring it to the level of the rest of Europe? There’s been a marked difference in its application this season compared to last. There’s no way the Welbeck penalty is even considered last season (see Calvert Lewin tackled from behind at Anfield when clean through blatantly ignored and not even reviewed).

For Kopites their preferential order is

corrupt VAR
No VAR and big club bias from refs
VAR that is annoying and inconsistent but actually penalises them when needed

Ajax win tonight, then Liverpool would have to go all out to win against Midtyland otherwise Ajax and Atalanta could play out a draw against each other that sees them both go through. What’s annoying is that Liverpool deserved nothing from their game in Ajax and really would have been in trouble now but they managed to pick up 3 points from a deflected mishit own goal.

I mean if that is whats happening, it's pretty obvious you will get short term gain for long term pain. This was the pattern at Dortmund and increasingly the pattern at Liverpool. No idea if Klopp does it mind.

I just think he has a bizarre aversion to rotasting his squad, as say Alex Ferguson used too. I bet he goes ultra strong against Ajax tonight.
His aversion to squad rotation stems from the fact that, despite the much lauded younger players - the ones who beat a dispirited Everton - they ain't all that. And purchases like Minamino look atrocious.
