ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

B*gger-all on over Crimbo, so took the plunge and watched ‘Dare to Dream’ (or some drivel like that) over on Prime. I wasn’t disappointed as it turned out to be the usual cringe-fest I half expected, but I’d promised my mis-guided Liverpool season ticket holder son that I’d tune in at some point, and well, a promise is a promise.

For the uninitiated - and surely ignorance is bliss - it’s a tome about the rise and slip of one Steven Gerard, whose self-delusional expectations know no bounds when he indirectly suggests that he’s ‘not yet done’ with Liverpool. Really Steven? There are indeed better groundsmen than you in the pecking order, so don’t count on a return to the real world of footy any time soon, son.

Anyway, despite having far more pressing matters to spend my time on than writing this, I just thought I’d mention it if, for no other reason, that it finally occurred to me after suffering it to the bitter end, that the blurt had used it to make a feeble excuse for that infamous ‘slip’: I was in terrible pain after the game before; my back was in so much pain I couldn’t get out of the car; and my pelvis...I had to have an epidural to play in the Chelsea game.....I shouldn’t have played....blah, blah, whinge, whinge...

Moral of story: no matter how bored you get, and even if you really love the game, don’t waste your time on this; it’s time you’ll never get back.

Tbh the fact that Gerrard had to live with his failure in that season every day since really does make me laugh. Scumbag of the highest order, a horrible piece of work, who was massively overrated.

United team winning ugly tonight but looking like they're beginning to blend.

I'll enjoy thinking about the sleepless nights the Kopites will be having as they dread another era of United titles.

*:bye: Kopite lurkers*

a team with 3 wins out of 8 at home are Liverpool’s nearest challengers. Absolutely ridiculous.

On a serious note City look to have a better defence than Liverpool now. If they can keep Aguero fit they look like they could challenge. United have better depth in attack and better away form. If they can sort the home form out they can challenge this Liverpool team.

Klopp hasn’t been under pressure before of being favourites and having challengers. Let’s see if the Manchester teams can turn the screw.

Klopp knows his team are running on fumes. They'll drop a lot of points away from home. If a team goes to Anfield and breaks that home record the skids will defo be under them.

One serious challeneger will deny them.
