ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

You take 3/4 times the amount of fans to tickets allocated over to the venue then there’s always going to be trouble. Looks like it hasn’t been handled too well with regards to those who did have tickets. However, the genuine ticket holders should be pointing fingers at the fans that didn’t have tickets clearly trying to bunk in.

They like to say we look for anything at all to point the finger at them but they provide the ammunition time and time again. Just look at the behaviour travelling down to Wembley twice this season and ransacking service stations.

The media will cover for their darlings though.

The Real Madrid fans managed to get into the stadium seamlessly yet carnage at the other end? Having seen some vids it's clear loads didn't have tickets and were intent on bunking in, some actually did and posted it on twitter bragging.

Of course they'll have decent fans who'll be fuming at what happened but this lot have a really bad element and the club do little to stamp it out. That statement they issued is a joke. It'll be the same again at their next European final.

Interesting. I've just done exactly that, and that top comment has been removed. Also all the upvotes have been reduced into the 300's so it doesn't look like everyone was happy to see Liverpool lose.

Absolute whitewash

For all it's claims to be anti-censorship, Grauniad has possibly the most fascist below the line moderation across UK national media.

There's a line to be towed and you either stay on message or it is immediately deleted.

Or they just don't open comments on articles they don't want questioned.

The Daily Mail, while being an awful institution at least lets comments run with every side allowed to be argued.

It really does get away with a lot without being questioned in any way.

The media have a lot to answer for as well. Not for covering this up, as they’ve covered past indiscretions up, that’s certainly a problem but perhaps not the main contributor.

They’ve spoken about Liverpool and it’s fans like they are this all conquering ‘special team’ 24/7 365 days a year. If you watch any game of football even when they’re not involved then Sky BT or the BBC are invariably still making it all about them. If they’d re involved then it’s starting coverage early to listen to YNWA. Every player they have is the best in the world maybe ever in their position, their manager is the best maybe ever, their stadium is the best, their fans are the best. Kids are being brought up on a diet that they are this mythical special team and everything always goes their way. Sadly the PL have kowtowed to that and now referees have ensured that the games they should have lost this season largely haven’t happened.

It all just results in those moments of humility that happen to every fanbase every year not happening to them. So when they lose a final against a team that every single bit of media they’ll have seen assured them that they would routinely beat by a lot of goals, they’re just completely unprepared to handle it. A lot of these fans won’t have seen their team lose a game live for 5 years thanks to the ridiculous match manipulation that occurs at Anfield in the prem. they’re not used to so much as a throw in being given against them.

So when they do finally lose, it’s just too much to handle, their egos and sense of self importance have been inflated to such a point that they can’t rationalise ‘maybe we got outdone by a team with more experience and more individual quality with a manager who is more tactically flexible, and the luck we had in the two domestic cup finals wasn’t there tonight’. No, they see it as some sort of affront, there must he something wrong, someone must have to pay for this, and then they take that anger out wherever they are.

The English media need to sort themselves out because their acting as LFC fan channels is embarrassing and has caused a lot of the mess we’re now seeing.
Fantastic post
