ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Now that Richy and Frank have been charged by the FA, will Austin Powers and Murder Inc also get charged for nearly causing a crush in Paris?

Of course they won’t … why would the establishment club get blamed for anything. One manager calls out corruption, and the other nearly causes hundreds of deaths.

S**t stain FC.
Who or what is Austin Powers? Other than a character created by Mike Myers

They are using the media to make an excuse for them not winning the Champions league, and the Premier league, and just half a quad when they bragged they would win it all. Stop letting them deflect their 'LOSS' Remind them that Real Madrid won the European cup and Man City won the League. Keep laughing. Yes! we are plop, but we do not brag we will win this and this and that and blah and blah. Their big heads need slapping down!

Remind them, the RS fans, the media, sky, the BBC, the ex Kopite commentators, every single day, that they messed it all up after bragging away!
Remember how they went on and on about the quad, about the greatest team of all time! Remember how they wanted us relegated. Remember agent Rafael! Now they deflect it with 'Everyone is against us, poor us'. Remind them every day!

Oh! by the way... Everton stayed up! sniff it!

This story will quickly fizzle out if (more likely when) the French turn out to be right.
I dont think this will reach a conclusion, just a lot of he said she said back and forth.

From what ive read I still dont really blame the Liverpool fans, I know, not the narrative, but a mixture of heavy-handed French police and some local French scallywags would be where I would be pointing most of the fingers personally.

Yes Liverpool didnt help themselves with their manager telling them to travel over and posting blag tickets on social media, but the majority of my fingers are pointed at Le French.

when the French authorities produce thousands of tickets and say heres the reason, I wont be letting the kopites and there apologists off. not for a second.
the sooner a light is shone on the culture of criminality the better, they never face and change it otherwise.

Having today read some of the accounts in various UK media outlets, it's gone beyond exasperating. Given the situation of an excessively large crowd trying to gain entry to the stadium, the CRS had basically two available courses of action: (i) stand back and let them in, which would almost certainly have led to fatalities, or (ii) make the effort to keep them out. Simple as. You can't have it both ways. Another stadium disaster and there'd now be cries of how the French police did nothing but let the crowds flood in, and how they should have used any means they had to stop the crush. What do you want: a pile of bodies, or stinging eyes? Not much of a moral conundrum, is it?
Hopefully it wouldn't have lead to fatalities but we've seen the potential for it to happen realised too many times.

A few stinging eyes and disgruntled fans beats getting a knock on the door about a lost life.

The French police did right.

It was clearly an estimation and not the total, but I also took it as attempts on turn styles. Perhaps they could have used better, less inflammatory wording about the late fans and fake tickets, but it’s clear there are a number of issues with fakes and bunking in.

It’s also clear that the rs are part, and one of the key initiating factors of a very big problem - it’s also clear that there is zero accountability taken by the rs fans, club and media, which is despicable and needs to be addressed, or we will see this problem and worse happen again in future.

How many more innocent people have to be hurt, or worse still killed, before that shower accept their part in these all these troubles.
I fully agree.

Or understand that there's quite possibly some translation issues and take time to jump to conclusions without getting what they meant to say.

Perhaps so. But the issue here is people who did have legitimate tickets, or indeed any tickets slowing the process up.

I mean I could be wrong, but does look like people arrived in good time.
If only legitimate ticket holders turned up, there would have been no issues. It was the bloggers and those forcing a way in that were the issue surely?

Mike, I will try to keep my blue tinted specs off.

The French police were tasked with controlling a crowd of about 30k rs of whom at least 5k had already blagged into the ground overcrowding the rs end, blocking stairwells.

Outside there were 2700 genuine ticket holders who could not get in because the rs side was already overcrowded. There were also thousands of scum, rs and local yobs rushing the fences.

The cops went to very defensive mode employing sprays and gas as their priority was to prevent any more getting in.

What happened at Hillsborough? The cops panicked and opened the gates, and so allowed thousands into an already overcrowded terrace.

Don't underestimate the concern that a terrorist attack might also be attempted.

Thus the cops were understandably highly strung. The rs bloggers, blaggers and kkklippety all exacerbated the difficulties of an already very challenging policing operation.

Yet, sfa problems at the Madrid end? A handful in a crowd of probably 30k Madridleños.
