ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

No one wants to see peaceable law aiding fans going to the game ever go through that regardless of age.

Objectively rs bloggers and fake ticket holders behaved as expected, tear gas happy French police behaved as expected, and "local Somalia-Algerian street gangs" behaved as expected. It was a recipe for disaster.
I do blame Wotsit teeth, he was an utter moron for telling them all to travel and I hope he is sanctioned for it, he wont be, but he should be.

Also I’ve been treated badly at Newcastle in the cup in 99 , anderlecht, Fiorentina and Bucharest to name a few , the kopites laughed at us .

and a year or 2 after we were treated like crap in Florence . The city of Florence rolled out the red carpet for Liverpool fans . even going as far as taking down the plastic screen at the front of the away end . They wouldn’t even let us drink in pubs ffs

but Fiorentina and Liverpool both have something in common . They hate the old lady . no not my ma but juventus .

so i won’t apologise for being unsympathetic to that shower across the park .

I'd settle for him to say about staying at home if fans don't have tickets. No doubt he'll say that happily when City and PSG meet in Istanbul next year.

I havent even spoke to my brother about it yet.

We went for a meal last night and I made a joke about how odd it was that a kopite was early, but it was a family meal so never really got a chance to talk.

Im just able to look at the pictures and reports and judge it objectively.

I saw kids being tear gassed, for no reason, that really doesnt sit right with me, whatever shirt they were wearing.
Kids and other legit people teargassed were unfortunate collateral damage.
The gendarmerie had to disperse a potentially dangerous crowd.
The ground was full, those outside were still trying to get in.
Their intervention quite likely saved lives.
2 policiers have been suspended following excessive and unauthorised use of the gas or spray.

Is that the truth truth, or the rs truth because they’ll be. Polar opposites.
the reality of the situation is the truth, its hidden in spin/sensationalism by the popular media. the footage i saw did not show LFC fans bunking in or causing mayhem, the trouble makers all looked like french/local wools. i`m all for tribalism/friendly rivalry but when for instance an old kopite gets battered by some shithouse lads with belt buckle weapons- i`m on the kopites side. we all know what LFC fans have created in the past but i think this one is different. the media have in no way helped the situation either, with their usual fawning butt-licking sycophantic take on everything LFC. its up us who or what we believe and our own personal view of reality determines whether we are taken for mugs by the manipulators, who`s main objective is to hide the truth.

When the RS reach any final, their manager, club, and acolytes in the media just create a climate of hysteria.

Add this to a volatile local youth population, a proactive police force, and some dodgy administration= What we all witnessed that Saturday night.

As far as we know, no one died or was seriously injured.

But now we have to sympathise for the universal 'trauma' experienced by cult members.

NOT INTERESTED.

Right. We're all blues here, and shouldn't really be at each other over this.

@BlueToff @MikelsGoat

Do you both agree that Liverpool FC should be punished for this? Something along the lines of a fine and them to play a home European tie behind closed doors. Just like England over the problems at Wembley.

Do you also both agree that the English media has been very sycophantic towards Liverpool over this. Especially when compared to the way our fans were treated in Lille?

As for the French Police and UEFA, I've not heard anyone say they aren't to blame. Everyone agrees that the French police were heavy handed, and everyone agrees that UEFA should have never agreed to paper tickets.

More than one organisation can be at fault sometimes. And pointing the finger at one, doesn't absolve the others.

There are 2 separate issues here. 1.far too many people around the entrances, many with no tickets who had no right to be there. 2. Invasion of scallies from the neighbouring banlieue of St Denis no doubt attracted by the fracas going on. They saw some easy pickings.
We'll see if there is any trouble this evening at the France Denmark game.
