ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Also I’ve been treated badly at Newcastle in the cup in 99 , anderlecht, Fiorentina and Bucharest to name a few , the kopites laughed at us .

and a year or 2 after we were treated like crap in Florence . The city of Florence rolled out the red carpet for Liverpool fans . even going as far as taking down the plastic screen at the front of the away end . They wouldn’t even let us drink in pubs ffs

but Fiorentina and Liverpool both have something in common . They hate the old lady . no not my ma but juventus .

so i won’t apologise for being unsympathetic to that shower across the park .
Definite agenda at Newcastle. Split into small sections around the ground and not allowed to stand up otherwise the police and stewards waded in. Think about 200 got thrown out. Utter disgrace from that club.

Right. We're all blues here, and shouldn't really be at each other over this.

@BlueToff @MikelsGoat

Do you both agree that Liverpool FC should be punished for this? Something along the lines of a fine and them to play a home European tie behind closed doors. Just like England over the problems at Wembley.

Do you also both agree that the English media has been very sycophantic towards Liverpool over this. Especially when compared to the way our fans were treated in Lille?

As for the French Police and UEFA, I've not heard anyone say they aren't to blame. Everyone agrees that the French police were heavy handed, and everyone agrees that UEFA should have never agreed to paper tickets.

More than one organisation can be at fault sometimes. And pointing the finger at one, doesn't absolve the others.
Kopite cheerleaders.

Let’s have it right . Why should we be sympathetic to that club?

The days of the finals in the 80’s have long gone .

So has the ‘brothers in arms’ stuff when we stood as one with them over hillsbrough . I was 6 when that happened and remember that day and the Monday in school they followed. I remember both like it was yesterday.

Yet Liverpool have rubbed heysal in our face for years . From flags to songs to t shirts.

Now they even dare throw hillsbrough at us . That’s a massive insult to every evertonian imo .

Yet we should be sympathetic for a fanbase who mock us while still carrying on to get away with doing what they want

we played them a month later 3-1 win gemmill and Campbell and the police couldn’t touch us after what they done in the cup game . They just stood and filmed our fans on camcorders all game .

your right about separating us . we were in opposite corners at both ends of the ground .

There are 2 separate issues here. 1.far too many people around the entrances, many with no tickets who had no right to be there. 2. Invasion of scallies from the neighbouring banlieue of St Denis no doubt attracted by the fracas going on. They saw some easy pickings.
We'll see if there is any trouble this evening at the France Denmark game.
only if if suits the media agenda. we are shown only what they want us to see. if we are lazy and dont bother to look beyond the hype, we get what we deserve

Heavy, heavy thread this has latterly become...light is being shone in dark areas the main stream media have negligently, (and willfully), shirked about and from...
The thing about Everton is that, whilst we are not much chop at footie, our conscience is clear: we play clean and fair...and our fans act,(and behave), clean and fair.
And I support a team (as do my offspring), that pedastals that quality on far higher dais, than on some demagoguery that pollutes the mind-set of our same-city domiciled team's sociopathic hive mentality.
Check your history for clean and fair fans, Maybe ask an old Millwall supporter ( 11 stabbed in one game in 1973 ) or one of the County Road Cutters from back in the day. And before anyone goes off on one, my point is that all the big clubs had their fare share of trouble makers.

I agree with you there.

Do you agree it was a problem that UEFA came out with a blatant lie at first, and then the French government came out with figures that there was no way could have been verified by the time they did come out with them, and insisted no blame was on them?

What they're doing now, shouldering responsibility, is better. And that's what the RS need to do - and like you I unfortunately doubt they will.
What's the blatant lie?

I've seen RS repeating this talking point a lot but it strikes me as people mistranslating statements to suit their agenda.

Its just tedious how every defeat they have is a national enquiry.

Lose to Madrid in 18 - Ramos should be charged with assault

Lose to Madrid in 22 - France should be sanctioned.

Sore losers.
