Yes I know what fascism is mate. I've been actively involved with monitoring and physically confronting fascism all my adult life.

In what was am I mislead to say that fascism should be opposed, and its output not be given a platform to have its message normalised and expanded then?

What you are doing here, in trying to blame people of colour is divisive. We can have sympathy for genuine Liverpool fans, who went with legitimate tickets and got caught up in the chaos of the day, without quoting fascist propaganda sites mate.

i don't like the "third-world country" jibe...that feels prejudiced and cheap. i guess some might consider it racist...that media-outlet does seem itching to provide its own narrative.

But where there gangs of non-Western youth also causing trouble? Is there a way to speak of this without sounding racist? Is their background relevant and should it be mentioned at all?

These are profound questions for our age...i'm not sure we can find consensus on how to answer them.


Disclaimer: i live in Berlin and we have similar issues, seen it myself. But a better healthier Disclaimer is this: the vast majority of non-Western folk who arrive and stay here are fine...like most people they just want to get on with life, and not bother anyone. These good people are madder at such gangs of youths than we are, for they feel they are getting a bad rap by extension.


Maybe the best way to combat prejudice is to talk about things as we see them...the good & bad apples. That way we don't give extremists openings to talk about these things as they see them. The extreme lose the monopoly, they lose influence. And we might get closer to a more harmonious mixed society.


The first step to that pleasant vibe is to recognise that there are videos out there which shows football fans getting attacked by certain groups of gangs, and consider what this might mean in the grander scheme of things.

You are also denying there was any bunking in, any fake tickets etc despite the fact there are Liverpool fans, all over the internet bragging about how they have illegally entered the stadium. Yet you want to turn this into some weird obsession about people of colour, when it was white English people who caused the problems.

If you want to talk about conditioning and being unable to see what's in front of you, you might be best looking in the mirror.
