ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Will be over 30 mill more expensive than Haaland but simultaneously also not more expensive than Haaland because City ruin football by spending money. Schroedinger’s transfer
From what I can tell he'll suit Liverpool's long ball and counter attacking game.

He sounds impressive, and Liverpool have a knack of falling on their feet with goal scorers. I just wonder about all the hype though.

It’s far less likely for target men to be super prolific. There’s a few exceptions like Shearer Kane Lewandowski etc. but Drogba was one of the best in the PL but still wasn’t hitting 30 goals a season.

I’d much rather they went for a bean pole who hit mid teens every season as long as the service was good rather than them getting another Suarez who can run the game himself.

Here’s where he hits 30 next season to shut me up.

I have no idea about him as I've never watched him. From the reviews of him he's talked up as a player who can play anywhere in attack, and is strong and pacy. For the money quoted it's a huge chance on a player with limited playing time and not involved in a top league.

They usually know what they're doing with forwards like, so I'm wary.

That said, there might be competition for his signature.

Liverpool always tend to make good transfers these days, ever since they booted Rogers to be honest

Their success rate is generally pretty high

I remember a few on here scoffed at them going for Salah, and he ended up being immense

Just goes to show what can be achieved if you actually have a proper strategy when it comes to signing players and you make the right choices

If we had the same eye for a player as they do then we'd be far better off right now, much as it sticks in my craw to say

They always sell these players at the perfect time for maximum profit as well

It's infuriating how well run they are sometimes

I'm expecting a relative collapse there on a par with season 2020/21.

They put a lot into chasing 4 trophies and that will take its toll. The front three now look uncertain and the midfield needs rebuilding. City are getting better with a player now in the ranks that can get Ageuro levels of goals.

I can see Spurs and maybe Chelsea being Liverpool's main rivals fro the scraps next season.

You said the same last year about the collapse, Mane and Salah both past it and dont score enough goals?‍♂️. The only time they may drop off is when Klopp goes.

I agree with Dunc to be honest

Klopp is the special ingredient that will keep them cooking even if the squad is less impressive, like how Ferguson did at United when he got comparative blood out of a stone with that Squad in his final few seasons

Liverpool will benefit from United's self inflicted stay in the wilderness as well. Right now I can't see past City, Liverpool, Chelsea or Spurs for the Title in the next few years. United need a big rebuild, Arsenal just aren't well run enough on the sporting side (although financially they do well), Leicester will always be a good side in the mix for Europe and cups but their Title winning days look over for this generation at least. They are well run though so they'll always be sniffing around in case one or two of the sides above them have a bad season. I think Villa are doing with money what we did (i.e. wasting it), and we're miles of the pace and will be for a while. Palace look decent under Viera, but I can't see them challenging for the Title

Unless Newcastle find a way around FFP and just keep spending until they get it right, it's going to be four team league for a while yet I think, and Liverpool will always be in contention whilst Klopp is there. I just hope when he finally does go they get the appointment as spectacularly wrong as Man United did when Ferguson left, or how Liverpool themselves got it wrong when Dalglish left the first time

I think it’s fairly safe to say anyone who’d seen Nunez play even just once could tell he was very good, Everton included and we’d certainly already identified Diaz.

There’s just the small stumbling block of the £150 million it costs to buy them that maybe the issue.

It’s not great scouting.

And there lies the farce that is "FFP".

Everton can not afford to spend £85 million on one player but Utd can even if they are hundreds of millions in debt and a shambles on and off the field.

We all know the script - if he signs for an Arsenal type club he's an expensive flop.

If he signs for the tricky reds he'll turn oot to be a 15-20 goal a season forward.

Rope a DOPE

@Saint Domingo

I’d take him being a 15 goal a season striker tbh seeing as Mane and Salah have been 25-30 at times.

No doubt he’ll look brilliant on Klopp’s juice but still all tall target strikers rely on good service to score goals. Mane and Salah have been creating goals out of nothing for years. Torres and Suarez did the same. Nunez will have to be exceptional to be up there with them.

One difference is that they dont have Michael Edwards the outgoing sporting director now. He was supposed to be the rain maker for them in the last few seasons on transfers...that said, they also bought a lot of stinkers with him in charge too.
