The thing about the German language is it doesn't use an indefinite article -- "a" -- when stating nationality or what city a person is from. So I would say, "Ich bin Kanadier" to say I am Canadian. Additionally, the suffix "in" is added to the word to show the speaker is feminine. So, "My mother is from Graz" would be "Meine Mutter ist Grazerin."

I have a lot of time for the German language. Of all the ones I've tried to learn down the years, German is the closest I've come to doing it.

My problem is I just don't have the drive to push myself forward with it. Probably doesn't help that duolingo is a terrible app to use. I don't care which building the Russian soldiers are standing behind*. Give me numbers and sentence structure.

*Though it would appear that duolingo were quite prophetic about that in the end ?.
