ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Genuinely not sure why they’re all so pleased with that result today. They’ve effectively given up the last remaining target they had this season as they dropped 2 points at home. Once again with them though the story is never on the negative. The kopite propaganda machine instead has all the stories on poor victim Robertson, how Liverpool are the title kingmakers, how Anfield is different from other stadiums etc.

The reality is that barring a miracle, their season ended today. It’s been a complete and utter failure given the wage bill they have, the money they’ve spent, and their objectives at the start of the season.

Money poorly spent on Nunez Gakpo Carvalho, and some really bad management at times from Klopp.

I think it’s just hyped up more. All of the sky six have pretty good home records. Pundits and the media don’t bang on about the Etihad though when City win a game, or about an Old Trafford factor if United are doing well. With the other teams it’s all about the players and managers. When Liverpool win thought he media report it as the Anfield effect, and the myth grows from there.
Are you comfy about the RS not getting Top 4 yet?

I never write them off until it’s mathematically impossible but I think the recent form of Newcastle has made it more difficult for them. I thought this weekend would see Newcastle potentially lose and Liverpool beat Arsenal. That would have tightened things up a lot.

As it is now though they need to find 4 additional wins over whatever Newcastle and United do in 9 games. Spurs would probably profit from those teams failing as they play both of them so might be next in line anyway. I can see United and Newcastle both winning a decent number of games out the remaining 9 so I think Liverpool would have to be prefect from here to have any chance of getting it.

I think they're done. I know that it is the RS but I just can't see it.

Lino clearly reacts with an elbow so will get some form of punishment.

Ratty makes physical contact first, however. This was not in the heat of the moment like Mitrovic and was as they were walking off the pitch. He needs more than the 8 game ban that Mitrovic received. Especially after such a fuss has been made about manhandling officials.

The mad thing is that if the linesman didn't react, Robertson would have got away with manhandling him I reckon.

I’d put my mortgage on Robertson not receiving any punishment whatsoever.

Just not sure why Sky built that game up making out it was the game of the season or something. It didn’t decide the title. It wasn’t between two title contenders. Liverpool are mid table. It was a classic case of a very good team allowing the home team to get back into it with a bit of huff and puff. Not a lot of quality on display from either side in the second half.

Sky’s post match coverage trying to build up into a PL classic. Their obsession with that club and that stadium is just ridiculous.
Agree it was nauseating. Tyler, spitty and Neville all equally vomit inducing as eachother. It’s just funny how Liverpool always have to be awarded something without them winning anything. When they came runners up twice to city it was they got 90 odd points best ever runners up blah blah, now it’s they were in the best game this season by coming back to draw with arsenal, even though we beat the same team when we practically bottom of the league an no one gave a toss.

The RS infested media are focused on the linesman’s reaction conveniently forgetting that Robertson was the aggressor. The linesman was trying to defend himself.
RefWatch on Sky will set the tone for how this plays out. If Gallagher goes after Robertson, he might actually be in trouble.
If he doesn't mention it, the linesman will want to update his CV

Decent day yesterday. RS lose ground in race for top-four and Arsenal drop points, thus putting City's destiny back in our own hands.

I think whatever happens in the title race will hurt the RS. If City win it then it will compound their misery and hatred for us. If Arsenal win it, their whole victim complex about nobody being able to compete with City would fly out of the window. For years, they've told us that they're miracle-workers for pushing cheating City all the way. In less than two months however, Arteta could have lifted the PL trophy the same number of times as Klopp. That would hurt them.

They play 5 relegation rivals in their remaining matches. I wouldn’t be surprised if they lost all of them. They can’t make 4th and probably don’t want to play Europa etc. The rats will try and send us down instead.
Haha, yes. Arteta will have won it without the integrity of the whole competition being blown to bits.

I don’t think he’ll ever be short of work offers after his heroics yesterday.

I’d happily give him a job just to hear the story of how he stuck the elbow into that rats mouth while he was kicking off.
