ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

They’ll still probably fluke the second leg.

One thing is though that it’s about time someone started calling out Virgil Van Donkey, he’s an absolute myth, he just disappears, he’s never neat the danger, plays people onside all the time, lets people run off him. Always has been an absolute carthorse bailed out of trouble by Allison every week. Was only a matter of time someone put a few past them the amount of chances he’s giving up every game.

Best of all time? Matip was a better defender than he is. He’s nowhere nowhere near the best CBs the prem has seen, nowhere near.

Pickford's fault

They’re still only 9/2 to qualify hahahaha. Any other team would be 20/1, that’s the equivalent of them being 1 goal down. The bookies know.
Not great odds but I think I'll take it and throw a hundred on. Will cushion the blow if/when the worst happens

Beating Atalanta at home isn’t for everyone I suppose

Remember it well. Surreal achievement. Merthyr Tydfil absolutely STORMED the Beazer Homes League Midland division that season 87-88!

@daza_1973 Weirdly the records show Big Bob retiring from Football in July 1987 after spending 86/87 with the Martyrs, but I'm convinced you are right about him missing the Atalanta ties with injury. Maybe he was still in the squad but never played in 87/88 due to injury so the assumption was retirement in summer 87.

I'm going to watch Merthyr FC v Hendon at the hallowed Pen-y-Darren park tomorrow (they're two promotions from the conference), but I'm not sure there'll be 8000 pissed up screaming Valley boys in the crowd this time!

Another theory could be that Klopp’s messed up the cycles. I’m convinced last season was a cycling off season for them, they were absolutely terrible whalloped by Wolves 3-0, Brighton 3-0, Brentford put 3 past them, Leeds beat them at home! (A result every single record book seems to have forgotten about). Napoli battered them, Arsenal battered them, City battered them, they had 2 points from first three games, got knocked out the cup by Brighton, and also lost to Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth, as well as multiple draws to bottom half teams. Of course a Real Madrid team who would later be dismantled 4-0 by City came from 2 down to beat them 5-2 on their own patch.

Whatever excuse you want to make, there’s no way a team good enough to be targeting 90 plus points and two quadruples in 3 seasons, with so called world class players in every position and a manager as good as Klopp should ever be performing that badly when they had no real injuries that season to blame it on, they just instead scapegoated their ‘ageing’ midfield, none of whom were over 32.

Then as bad as they’d been that season, when top 4 was suddenly in doubt, they did exactly what they did in the 20/21 season, they turned the juice back on and went on an unbelievable winning run at the end of the season winning 7 in a row and being unbeaten in their last 11 games. Flashbacks to two seasons earlier with Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams suddenly turning into Baresi and Maldini when 4th was on the line and then disappearing into oblivion again.

The effectiveness of PEDs undoubtedly wears off the more you use them and so perhaps Klopp has left himself short on the old 12 month cycle now. They are now suddenly not near the intensity they were when their academy kids were mauling Chelsea and City’s first teams away from home for fun. I’d absolutely die laughing if it all suddenly fell apart now and they lost and drew a few in the league.

Whoever picks up this team has a death wish. This squad except for one or two is absolutely crap and they showed their true nature last season. Allison is world class (although awful with his feet) and Salah was very good (although is now slowing down). The rest without the drugs are complete donkeys as seen in two of Klopp’s mysterious off seasons recently. I wouldn’t want to be the new manager walking in seeing Jones, Elliot Gomez Tsimikas Gravenberch Nunez Endo etc. all off the juice next season. They’ll be in for a rude awakening.
I think your right in what your saying and the commentator was hinting at Liverpool doping last night by saying how average Atalanta had been this season. Yet they go to Anfield and win 3-0, I think it's it's a poorly kept secret that Liverpool are doping. They simply aren't a skilful side, yet have managed all this success. I'm convinced the premier league have allowed Liverpool to dope to have someone challenge City. With United being a mess, you couldn't have City walking away with the league like in 2018, so liverpool started doping in 2018 to keep up with City. When Liverpool lose they don't just lose normally they fall apart. Players like VVD, Salah, Trent and Robertson look awful.
