A good manager doesn’t announce he’s going when his team are concentrating on winning three trophies, a great manager doesn’t announce he’s going months before and milk it for all it’s worth. He lost them everything with that announcement because it affected the fans and the players, like him or loathe him it was a gut punch for them.
It’s been quite a sideshow to see him set himself up for today, we hear so much about how he’s a quiet person who doesn’t want the attention. In that case a dignified exit would have been to announce his leaving tomorrow, not set himself up whatever he got today, I wont watch such sentimental claptrap.
