ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I see the Jumpers For Goalposts paupers of English football are at it again according to the BBC...

Liverpool plan to spend more than £250m this summer on signing Atletico Madrid and Argentina striker Julian Alvarez, 25, RB Leipzig and Netherlands midfielder Xavi Simons, 21, and Inter Milan and Italy defender Alessandro Bastoni, 25.

Liverpool have made contact with people close to Newcastle and Sweden striker Alexander Isak, 25, before a potential summer move.

Liverpool are one of the clubs monitoring Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong, as they see the Netherlands right-back, 24, as a potential replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Astonishing really, with no money invested and their best players going for nothing. I suppose that lot are going to turn up on a three seater 'trandem' bike like The Goodies, boots slung over the crossbar and a packed lunch...

I don't see them signing any of them. Alvarez and Simons because they are where they are less than a year on very pricey transfers, Bastoni because he's only ever played in a 3ATB system, Isak because there's no way the Saudi's are selecting their prize asset, and Frimpong because he's possibly a worse defender than the guy he's supposed to be replacing and thats saying something. Oh and the number of players they need to replace this summer, they can't afford to be paying anything ridiculous for anyone and thats regardless of whether the out of contract three resign or not.

Kelleher will have 1 year remaining, and won't sign a new contract as he's wanted out for 2-3 years. The third choice keeper is out of contract and young and almost certainly wants to play regularly rather than play for 20 mins a season. At RB either Trent or Bradley will leave, so they need to sign one, possibly two because Bradley is a bit of a sicknote for someone so young. At CB, leaving out St Virgil of the Knee, they have Konate with only a year remaining and supposedly both Real and PSG trying to sign him, so odds are he's leaving, then there's Gomez who is a complete sicknote and they tried to send him to the Geordies last summer so he knows they want rid of him. So thats 2-3 they need there. LB they have Robertson who every kopite has been crowing all year about needing to be replaced, and a greek lad who can't even take his place when he's that garbage. So they need at least 1, possibly two of them.

Midfield they have Endo, Elliott, and Morton all wanting out because they're getting no game time. Up front, looks like Nunez and Diaz are almost certainly off, maybe Jota too, and who knows about Salah. Chiesa won't stick another season of not playing either, so I'm guessing he wants out badly too. Then there's the usual kids they will sell because they're further away from the first team than they were a year ago. Thats a major rebuild no matter how you slice it.

They are just dipping in to the Coutinho money to buy them mate. They are all die hard reds too, so they will all be playing for free.

Grand Old Team inadvertently made a reds head fall off yesterday.

Was discussing the Reds, and the comment someone on here someone made re. Salah: "the worst thing they did was retain him, they won the league, but at what cost? They won't get any money to reinvest now".

And the fella called me bitter, and all I did was raise a point off here. Kept telling him I wanted liverpool to win the final, and that made him even more angry.

Whoever made the Salah point, is spot on though. Victims of their own success, they've won everything, what else is there to stay for?

It's essential at that end of the league, to keep re-investing in the squad. City have done it for years (one way or another), and this season after they didn't invest in the summer, the wheels came off. It was a no-brainer to cash in on Salad and re-invest in the squad when they had the chance. The fact they didn't is great news. To potentially lose three of their main highest value players for nothing in the summer (for free) will inevitably set them back and mean they have to invest out of their own pocket to stay up there.

Theyll find a way.

Whatever you say about Liverpool; they've got a huge pull. The Anfield atmosphere, might just be the best bit of propaganda of all time... fans and players want to be part of it. Not to mention their recent history.

The problem they've got is, the owners don't want to invest sufficiently. Have they only backed Slot with £10m and that was Chiesa? It'll be a big test to see if they're willing to thos season.

My completely honest opinion is, tneyve benefitted from a very poor league, seized their opportunity really well, but I think this time next season Arne Slot won't be the manager.

Dont buy into this kopite propaganda mate, they’ve consistently spent huge sums of money since they have been there, and will back sloth again in the summer.

It’s nonsense, they’ve broken transfer records for a keeper and centre back for gods sake.

The mancs and the rs try and create this narrative that they don’t spend money and are net spend kings, when in reality they throw money about like sailors.

They normally do find some way of staying close to trophies. They’ve been so close to the quad though for many years that even slumping back to where they were in the 90s winning the odd cup would now be seen as a massive failure for them.

The biggest thing for them is having a manager who could fluke them a European cup as they had with Benitez and most importantly Klopp. They want to feel like they can win that even if they don’t have the best team in Europe. If Slot goes out early next season and it’s proven that he’s not the man for success in Europe the RS will have him out because they cannot stand being irrelevant in Europe.

The Martinez effect
Just coming to say this, wonder if he’s their own Martinez. Took over an extremely stable club, followed on from, in his case a world class elite manager, not a slant on Moyes, but things are starting to slide. Happened with Everton in 13/14 and after that it was a disaster that started this mess. Can only hope.

Even if they keep the 3 out of contract players 2 of them are aging now. Along with others like Robertson and players who won’t ever be top tier like Nunez, Konate and Jota.

No, no, no, just NO.

Typical Scouse RS, who doesn't go anywhere near Anfield, having to virtue signal his love for "der mighty Redzzzz". I call them "Yurggenn laaaaaassss". They are nowhere to be seen, when they're struggling, but come out of woodwork when they're doing well. Then match slags make an appearance, drinking kopparbergs and taking lines, the yurgeeennnn laaassss, try to impress "match slags" with these antics. Strangely match slags and Yurgennn laaaaasss, when they lose, it's "didn't watch it yer knowwwww had to get meeeeee birddddd a char sui curry and some sui mais know what I'm saying ladddd". I can always spot bad parenting, when I see some woman , with 3 or 4 kids all wearing RS shirts.
Spot on this.
