ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Everyday that passes creates more resentment towards the game - stop dragging your heels and void it
Completely right it's simply beyond a joke, I don't know why the players don't grow a pair and just say we're not risking our health so the RS can win the title. The idea that clubs lower down the table playing all their games in empty stadiums without supporters would be fair is just laughable, it would just mean that bigger clubs have the advantage.

Here come the SKY and BT Darlings to try and push this over the edge?

I think Italy will be next, followed by Spain and by next Premier League meeting the writing will be on the wall.

I genuinely don't mind that view. If there was a way of finishing it that was fair, respected home/away fixtures, fans attending and wouldn't impact on the following season, then sure.

But the truth is we're well past that and not one of those parameters can be met.

So I'm fine with them considering all possible avenues out for as long as they can get away with it, as long as the correct decision is ultimately made - null and voiding it.

All scenarios were discussed on radio 5 live at 7pm.
Worth a listen if you can.
Jenas is a bell though.

As Euros is cancelled it's feasible the rest of the games get played without a crowd. It'll likely be a toss-up: put the players through that vs have them accept pay cuts to take extended leave until pre-season in the summer.

After all, half the buzz is playing in front of the crowd, plus the lack of gate receipts should favour a null-n-void scenario. Another reason in favour of voiding is for all UEFA leagues to be on the same page so as not to complicate europe-qualifications. Dutch have voided, so...

The red team will just have to go again, it'll surely be their year next time tho'.

I really don’t see how they can allow football to restart whilst there is still any form of social distancing enforcement in place (Even behind closed doors). Imagine you are a small independent bar/cafe/hairdresser/tattoo studio and being told you still can’t open up and allow customers in whilst a bunch of overpaid footballers were allowed to have close physical contact whilst producing the various bodily fluids that could aid transmission just so they can maintain their ridiculous salaries.

”Oh it’s alright, everyones been tested” - yeah well they can’t even get enough tests done for front line health and care staff yet so that’s going to sit really nicely as well.

But then we do have a Tory government in charge so anything is possible. If they do allow prem football to start up again whilst restrictions are in place I won’t be following any of them from that point onwards.

Pal has just sent me this - seems it is on the RS Daily Bugle front page (I can't even go there to look at it myself).
"Lets see who we could blame for this one....."

Who could and should have stopped controversial Liverpool v Atletico Madrid match
The ECHO asks who was behind decision to go ahead with the fixture

I bet the answer isn't Liverpool Football Club.

They surely cant blame Chelsea for this one, can they?

Itll all come down to a total abdication of responsibility on behalf of anybody remotely connected to big red, like that moron up the thread who said nobody told him not to go the match when he was sick during a pandemic.

Nobody told us not to play
Nobody told us not to have a full stadium
Nobody told us not to have 3000 fans from a virus hotspot
We would have got fined for not playing it
We would have got kicked out the competition for not playing it
People's lives are the most important thing YNWA

Etc etc etc.

They are never the architect of anything bad that happens, life just happens to them and they never face any scrutiny.

Jonathan Walters has made a valid point on twitter about how it's a waste of resources/emergency services and it'll still be putting players at risk via equipment.

His replies are the reds mostly Irish giving him abuse, some saying Roy Keane was right to humiliate him when he was upset over his mothers and brothers deaths.

They're beyond any sporting cult, it's honestly nauseating to read, some saying we've waited 30 years as if that has any relevence.

We've all know they're drunk on self entitlement and arrogance, but during this self isolation and reading some heartbreaking stories, they need some serious wake up call and voiding the season, although being in the best interest of the UK, would be justice.
