ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

First visit to this thread for ages as I try to rinse my mind clear of silly juvenile thoughts about their fanbase.
But..........I've just seen a couple of snippets of them mocking our fans for celebrating the win the other night against those giants of football, Lincoln City! After all it was only the League Cup.
This the last domestic trophy they've won if I'm not mistaken and one they give it big licks for some time after.
Nevertheless here we go again, hypocritical tossers the lot of them. Oh how I long for the squeals from the best fans in the world if they had to endure a fraction of what we've been through these past 25 years.

This is them after a 2-2 draw against those giants of world footy West Brom!

Jurgen Klopp celebrates with his team after the game

Well the cult clones take their lead from Herr Klopp, dont they. If I recall rightly, he condemned our justifiable celebrations of a derby goal by saying it was as if we'd won the World Cup. Likewise recently, as one journalist pointed out, they also take their lead from Klopp in running on the pitch - as he did like a whirling dervish when they beat us and consequently and more recently as did, that eejit kopite who in doing so skittled their new 'hero', the well off his line penalty saving goalkeeper. This attitude from them of course primarily stems from our successful renaissance in the '80s resulting in their subsequent open mouthed slobbering at our nerve in topping them.

They're going deep into this competition again unfortunately. It's what they do. Just got to swallow our medicine again.

Last time they won it in 2005, I think they went out to Benfica in the Quarters the following year. I'd settle for that this time. But the closer they get to the Final, the more nervous I get.
I hate them winning anything, even the League Cup. Still rather be a Blue though.

Honestly wouldn’t bother me if they won it again this year. What difference does it make, they’ve just won it anyway. Even them going out at the group stages won’t change the fact that they won it last year. As long as City keep them from that league title, we’ll be alright.

Klopp said Everton treat the Derby like a World Cup final. Marco said Liverpool celebrated a winner like they’d won a World Cup final.

To be honest, the Everton Liverpool rivalry is pathetic these days. Just nasty and depressing from both sides.

Agree on that last bit, its proper grim now

I used to regularly attend Goodison and Anfield as a lad with my dad - blue and red cheering on each other’s team, apart from the derby obviously. Even then sitting all over the place, mixed in together. Remember being sat in the Anfield Rd end and watching a 3rd of the kop jump up when Ferguson scored.

Plus the “Merseyside” chants and “are you watching Manchester” at the 84 milk cup final. Sad times these days. It used to have that feeling of when you’ll call your brother a dick head, but nobody else is allowed to call him a dick head. These days both sets of fans stand in arms with fans from elsewhere to get at the other fans of a Mersey club.

One of the main reasons, among many, why I struggle to care about modern football in an emotional way. Still follow it, but no emotional effect to any results really anymore. [Poor language removed]

I used to go to the pit quite a bit a few years ago when I lived closer, just to take in a game. The utter flag waving bell whiffs that go there now and the self entitlement, lack of awareness of the game means I haven't been for a a while and have no intentions of going like I used to. Their style of kick and rush football doesn't appeal either. Granted, it gets them results but many of us like watching football (other teams rather than just the tram we support) as we enjoy the spectacle.

Don't be fooled by 3 goals in 4 games - Daniel James is not Premier League quality and never will be. He might be Tom Daley quality though.

They're so so bitter.
