He has admitted using the word "negro".
That's good enough for me.
Dalglish gets pulled into the refs dressing room about this. His first comment off the bat re Evra:
"Hasn't he done this before?".
Classy.
Liverpool were using a supposed 'equivalent' tit-for-tat exchange between Evra and Suarez as their defence: Evra called Suarez a south American; Suarez called Evra negro.
Regardless of the iffy sequence of events that puts Evra getting his dig in first (implausible to say the least) it's not exactly moral equivalents like is it? Suarez's commensurate response would have been 'French', not what skin colour Evra is.
Suarez has gone for the N-bomb and now has less than he should have got in terms of a ban.
Those Kopites - if they had any dignity and sense - would do well to belt up about this now.
Liverpool's press officers have dug his grave.
They put it out that he said "negrito" which is a supposed term of endearment, when in fact he said "negro" which is nothing of the sort.
Similarly they alleged Evra called Suarez a "sudaca", a slur on South Americans when in actual fact he is ACCUSED of saying "Sudamericano" which simply means South American and according to the Spanish language experts brought in has never been used as a short hand offensive slur. (Paragraph 362)
They've basically created their own evidence to get into the media before anyone could see the facts and it hasn't worked.
