ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Wouldn't listen to a word he says, he'd have Gerrard in his midfield for crying out loud.

Like I said, I havnt seen Gerrard much. 8 mins here and there. He probably has. Not the player he was for sure, but not the daftest of shout to say he would have him in for Barry.

I personally wouldnt change any of our midfield for any of theirs, but I watch us closely every week.

Barry this year kind of proves my point about watching your own side. Not one person on here said last year, "you know what, Barry would be ace for us with that young Wigan lad".

Dont think Gerrard is as mince as we like to think.

He'll go if we don't get into the top 4 but not to a PL club unless it's an absolutely humongous bid. Madrid or Bayern would be his likely destination....
Whats your opinion on a humongous bid then ?

12 months ago you would most likely of been okay with 50m correct ?

50m? He was worth a lot more to us now even then.....

Right now I'd say for a us to sell to him to a PL club the bid would have to exceed 90m or so ( if we don't make it to CL that is).

would top clubs like that be willing to buy a player who goes missing in quite a few of the big games? look he's good, but people are overrating just how good he is imo. yes he shines against the bottom half clubs because they get **** scared of him, but he's hardly proven himself in the really big games or in the champions league, why would two of the best teams in the world be so anxious to get him? bayern already have a better striker in lewandowski wrapped up also.

you finished 7th last season, only arsenal showed an interest, he's improved this season yes, but he would have been more available last season.

not basing sakho on those moments btw, haven't seen too much great of him in what i have seen, just saying it wasn't a great moment of dealing with pressure.

Exactly mate...same way I don't watch many of your matches that closely so don't understand the fuss about someone like Mccarthy, but since most people have praised him I do take their word for it. People here should do the same when forming opinions about players like Allen, Henderson and Sterling

Happy to accept that you think they a the real deal. Allen looks, or certainly looked, like a lost puppy when I have seen him this year, and very lightweight. But hey ho.

This notion of him going missing in the 'big' PL games is pure BS and that's me being polite. Of course he won't be be as effective against them as they obviously have better defenses but to say he doesn't perform is nonsense. He scored against your lot despite carrying an injury, scored 2 and set up 3 against Spurs, was brilliant against City despite not scoring but set up most of our chances. Only Chelsea away I'd say he had a quite game but they almost designed their entire tactics to neutralise him that day.

You have to look at his international record to see his quality....record goal scorer for Uruguay. Was great at the 2010 WC which gets overlooked due to the handball incident. Player of the tournament at the Copa America 2011 where he led Uruguay to the title. Barring Messi and Ronaldo, no striker has his all round game....

laughable, utterly laughable.

What's there to laugh about? He is in his prime, better than 86m pound man Gareth Bale and just signed a new contract which gives us more leverage when negotiating a deal. So yes a bid in excess of 90m is not unreasonable if we are selling him to a PL club. For a foreign club, the fee would be around 70-75m

12 months ago he was causing all kinds of murder and a few of the reds i know wanted him out. I think 50m for him in the time span of January - April last year seems about reasonable, all things considered.

No doubting his ability, he is a top player and is scoring goals for fun at the moment. So in your opinion he is suddenly worth around 90m just from playing 15 games this season (off the top of my head).

he's a racist and gets banned a lot, will give whatever club he pays for a very bad image, that brings his price down considerably.

can't remember too many games where he's scored the winner in a big league game vs United, chelsea, city, arsenal or everton.

niklas bendtner has a great international scoring record.
