No doubting his ability, he is a top player and is scoring goals for fun at the moment. So in your opinion he is suddenly worth around 90m just from playing 15 games this season (off the top of my head).

Has been brilliant since the start of last season....honestly at the current ever increasing market price for top players, that's not unreasonable to except at all

True dat lad. I would laugh myself silly if/when Ratface goes, and they couldnt attract the sort of player to replace him.
 
I think Suarez is a fantastic player dont get me wrong but I would take Gareth Bale over him every day. That's not blue tinted glasses , I just think he offers more to a team when playing against other big teams... He just has a better all round game..... As for striking ability alone... I'd have zlat before him every time.

they won't get anyone near his ability imo, just like we would never have got anyone near baines' quality if we would have had to replace him.

just not sure rodgers is good enough to draw in a big name.

Yep. without CL they would struggle. Bit off topic, but I had mixed feelings about the Baines news today. Loved that he has stayed, if true, but Bryan Baby, plus a huge wedge, seemed attractive in a way.
 
If I was the man in charge of Liverpool (and not an Evertonian), I'd think twice about accepting 90m tbh.

for all we know though, oviedo has come and played 4/5 good games. jelavic had 15? good games then went crap, we would be buggered if the same happened to oviedo and we missed out on CL because he became a massive weak link.

baines is the best player in that position in the world that will play for us, have to try and look at the positives really.

also the way martinez stuck to his guns that he wasn't going to sell one of our best players, despite the chairman wanting to do the opposite, is very very positive for the future.

Honestly now that's laughable....what better attribute he has than Suarez other than pace?

Haha thats a strange comparison to make though. Of course last minuite winners are going to be more important than 4 when they were already ahead. COuld be said for any player in any game though
