It's clearly not ok to do that, and if they're guilty then they will get charged won't they. All I'm saying is Collymore knows exactly what he's doing, it's not only liverpool fans he winds up, then runs to the plod. Just watch him on twitter.
Also, I bet there are hundreds of convicted criminals in every stadium every weekend, will their club take their tickets off them? Don't be soft.

He hasn't run to the police though, he re-tweeted the abusive tweets and members of the public reported them to the Police. He even tweeted saying the police had contacted him.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even Collymore and that's all he did, and I agreed with everything he said about the Suarez dive, and how he said some pundits wont condemn it because they are guilty of it themselves. But it would appear that people are not allowed an opinion which goes against the rs mentality, because some of the abuse he’s gotten over it has been a disgrace. People threatening to kill him and saying suarez will rape his Mum, amidst a load of racial abuse. I honestly don’t see what he has done wrong in this case.

So Collymore is winding people up to be called racist names and to be personally attacked,

Mate you are having a shocker here.

Leave it then, I said he shouldn't be getting racially abused but the man is a woman beating sexual deviant, and knows how to provoke idiots to get attention. I'll say no more about it.

Exactly, if I start winding you up, ****ging off your wife/parents/kids and you knock me unconscious then I sure as hell should take responsibility. Can remember being at cricket match about 7 years ago, three fellas were winding up a fella in front of them for hours, the guy turns around and sparks one of them and he got thrown out, the group of lads (who were openly chanting racist songs as well, I'd rather be English than a [Poor language removed]) didn't get a slap on the wrist

Whilst not condoning this, collymore full well knows this kind of stuff happens when he gets all controversial about any club so he shouldn't be going all out like that, unless of course this is what he wants, but then he can't act all high and mighty as if hes some noble defender of the anti racism cause

It'd be impossible in many cases to link a twitter account to a season ticket, unless they've been found guilty in court

Ridiculous viewpoint this IMO.

If something this trivial and so subject to interpretation winds you up to the point of abuse Collymore got, then you shouldn't really be on twitter TBH. Probably shouldn't be allowed out of the house.

Twitter is basically filled with such dumb ****s who get agitated really quickly. It's not only Liverpool fans who post such comments, it's spread across the board. All I can say is, Collymore should no better than to constantly wind up people on twitter and retweeting the abusive tweets. He acts like he is the only victim who receives such abuse

He didn't really wind anyone up though, he just gave his opinion, something that he is paid to do.

I think he is doing the right thing in retweeting etc. People get abused like that all the time, not just famous people. As he has pointed out, a lot of what is said is against the law in the UK and twitter need to do more to stop it. If by highlighting the issue and outing the idiots Collymore can hopefully help to make Twitter more aware so that when someone is being bullied online they have an option other than just logging off and avoiding it altogether.

no he doesn't, he offered an opinion which is his job, and he is entitled to respond to vile abuse, and did so in a dignified manner, the only people in the wrong are the liverpool sycophants who cant bear to hear anything against their team, and act with unjustified anger

Like most people in the media, I don't take much notice of Collymore so don't know his history. I would like to know how you perceive he's trying to wind people up though when all he seemed to me was pass judgement on the Suarez dive? Or in your mind do you think that gives uneducated idiots the right to racially abuse someone? Has it crossed your mind that he might do it on purpose to drive these idiots out and hopefully they're prosecuted? Would you want the media full of yes men like Shearer and Hansen who try every desperate tactic so they don't go against the grain or a bloke like Collymore who'll stick by his opinion no matter what **** he'll get off the scum?
