ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Ridiculous viewpoint this IMO.

If something this trivial and so subject to interpretation winds you up to the point of abuse Collymore got, then you shouldn't really be on twitter TBH. Probably shouldn't be allowed out of the house.

See I agree with that latter bit but collymore full well knows he will get this kind of reaction, he's retweeted a man united fan sending him racist tweets today too so it's not just one club, he knows full well of his notoriety and milks it and then plays the victim card

Look we know we're not without incident ourselves but no club is.

Exactly, every single club has had racist incidents in the recent (ie 30 years) past, be it chanting or something else. There's also likely to be a decent number of people in a stadium for any team who have racist views, not really a point scoring thing

if you owned a club, you would not want racists in your stadium every fortnight, it brings the whole image of the club you own down. there would be others who would be willing to buy them, it would show you up in good light if you did rid them of it.

just because it's outside the stadium doesn't mattter one jot - you can't only be a racist outside a foootball stadium, you are or you aren't, plain and simple. if collymore gets called to come on an anfield pitch and those morons are in the stands, they're likely to hurl the same abuse at him as they did on twitter - that's not going to give the club you own a great image worldwide - people will be disgusted, especially if a majority join in.

you've seen what liverpool fans are like with their munich gigs, i wouldn't put it past them to have 30,000 shouting racist abuse at someone. they're pure scum.
You couldn't ban your racist fans really without banning your racist players

You mean like the 'Emile heskey, I wanna know if you'll be my slave' chant sung at Goodison in 2001?

As well as never accepting responsibility for anything, you also have the incredible ability to try and justify your actions by claiming someone may or may not have done the same in the past. Where do you idiots live? The only reds I know are decent lads. The people who inhabit your forums are absolute ********s of the highest order.

it appears to be with you pointing out an incident from another club over ten years ago, rather than condeming liverpool doing it now, its always the same, 'what about them'

You "out the closet" now mate ? Good to have opposition fans we can debate with on here, and if there was any other Liverpool fans on here posting as Blues, I'd hope they feel encouraged to declare that...it's not the shame they seem to think it is after all.

The whole racism issue needs to be dropped by both sets of supporters.

Makes the city of Liverpool looks terrible.

Liverpool is not a racist city (yes i know about the slavery - but thats a big factor why we are NOT a racist city i think)

theres only one side who aren't dropping it mate, what can we possibly do when they insist on making themselves look so bad

Today yes mate, but to be fair plenty of people on here bring it up a lot in regards to our lovely neighbours.

This is another example of the internet being an arse - it becomes tit for tat when in real life reds and blues sat together in the local it wouldnt even cross thier minds.

Actually I'd disagree, but that's not a discussion for here.
