Zidane was a big game player who produced moments of magic mostly from set pieces that a defensive french side needed in their knock out games.

He was awful in their group games, though. And still if it wasn't for makelele and thuram marshalling a really mean defence and henry in his prime popping up in the box when needed those moments of magic from freekicks wouldn't have been enough.

And that was over four games not 38.
