What is that supposed to prove?

Just because another team can outspend you doesn't mean you haven't tried to buy it.

I think someone on here, Dave probabl, posted figures showing Liverpool as being the highest spenders outside of the two clubs that won the lottery.

So don't try and convince anyone here that Liverpool are doing this on a shoestring.

There is middle ground between buying a title and operating on a shoe string. Let's assume that Liverpool are the third highest spenders (they're actually fourth), then they should be third. That doesn't buy you a title.
