The details of Liverpool’s proposed victory parade – if they win the Premier League title this weekend – have been revealed by the local council.

The Reds need a miracle to win the title heading into the final round of league fixtures this week, with Manchester City knowing just a point will see them become champions.

But having appeared to be in pole position to win the division just weeks ago, Liverpool still believe – and their parade details have been released.

Should Brendan Rodgers’ men pinch the trophy, it will be paraded on an open top bus on Monday May 12, with the procession starting at 5pm and lasting ‘for hours’, according to official documents. It will then head to the city centre via several other roads, in a bid to include fans from all over Liverpool.

The council has released its official tips on the parade to Liverpool, which include ‘be patient’ and ‘expect queues’ as well as ‘utilise the full length of the road’.

Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson, is confident the side can win the trophy: ‘We know many people are superstitious and don’t want to think about a victory parade until the title is in the bag, but unfortunately that isn’t an option for those involved in organising an event of this scale.

That's OK then, they're having their victory parade in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Need to know, who is this on the LFC bench vs Crystal Palace shooting daggers at Brenda (I.E. thinking the same as the rest of us: WTF are you playing at, you clueless twunt?)

Never bet on footy in my life... but I've just registered an account on William Hill and thrown a tenner on the unthinkable. Despite the fact that it could net me £130, I'm still praying that I lose the tenner all the same!

I just dont get the hype around Lallana. Good player dont get me wrong but nowhere near the standard of Silva/Mata/Ramsay. Yet someone will end up paying 20 mill + for him. He'd fit in alright here as we play that sort of game but Liverpool don't they get it forward quickly to fast players. Gerrard usually just launches it straight over the top. Lallana doesn't have any pace. One of those players who is perfect at the club he's at and shouldnt move.

@RED

Settling for the Manager of the Year cup now all of our neighbours. I've heard the term ' knocked down a peg or two ' but christ almighty.

Que ' Just wanted to get Champions League '.
Couldn't really give a damn about individual honours tbh. At the beginning of the season, if you told me we'd automatically qualify for the CL group stages, I'd have laughed my arse off. Now though, if we don't win, given where we were a few weeks ago, it will be a disappointment. Like it or not, LFC fans' expectations were raised by the incredible run of results since the new year. I'm not talking about the morons. I'm referring to actual fans. How could they not be?

I'm very excited to see what happens when our loanees return. We have 4-5 young players on loan who have had excellent seasons at their clubs. The word is that we will invest about 60M pounds this summer. If that's true, then next season is really going to be something.
