lollol

Its funny but tbf, that car wasn't even out the last time we won it so

Just reading a season review, club by club thing in the Telegraph. (Chris Bascombe)

On Liverpool transfers.

"Goalkeeper Mignolet has done ok, but the rest of Liverpools summer signings from a year ago have been either indifferent, awful, or anonymous"

Yeah ........ and I liked the "Best Quote" bit too: This does not slip. :) :)

As for us, Bascombe gives our transfer business 8/10 and states that Barry must be secured ahead of Lukaku. Hard to argue with that TBH

To be fair we were saying something similar on our Newcastle thread but we weren't as snide and nasty with our digs.

What can i say horrible club with horrible supporters.I'd like to say more but this is a decent wholesome site. The Geordies are lovely people compared to that shower of poor language removed. At least on Grand Old Team we can hold a civil discussion about opposition fans and other clubs without resorting to bile and venom resulting in threads being locked.

lol, did they really get this irate about newcastle fans cheering city won the league? what did they expect. that doesn't make you small time, the same way it doesn't make us bitter. if you hate a team and their fans of course you're going to revel in their success, that's how it works, just don't let it get you, it really isn't hard.

A mate of mine got sent this text this morning and forwarded it on to md. Think it sums it all up quite well.

Mate answer me something. I'm looking at the back pages and it's showing Vincent kompany with the league titĺe. Why? Didn't Liverpool win it last month? Don't tell me they let it SLIP? Not after stevie's huddle when they had it won. Seriously? Does this mean the shameless whoring of the deaths of 96 innocent people to gain momentum for winning a football competition was all for nothing? Oh god what about all those poor neutrals who desperately wanted them to win. I mean I never met one neutral who did wanted them to but the media assured me they did so it must have been true. And what about poor Gerrard, who despite never being in a title winning side, deserved to win a league medal? Fans nation wide will be gutted but it's the esteem he is held in that stadiums round the country are singing a song in unison about him in support...at least I think it's support. So after all that you're saying Man City are champions? Oh well, there is always next year!

Let's face it, they tried everything decent and indecent to get a #Liverpool are fated to win / #Liverpool must win the league buzz going around the country, and it failed. Not for the want of trying like.

City winning the league was quite literally a victory for common sense. It takes something very mawkish and sinister for a club like City (which has purchased success, btw) to come out of a league campaign with the moral high ground, but they have. And that's testimony to the antics of that shower of biffs.

A good post on RAWK.....

I see nothing as changed on RAWK since I last posted on here: some decent posters who are prepared to contragulate City but a large percentage who come out with the old bollocks about buying trophies. Of course Liverpool have never bought trophies - every decent player has come through the ranks - I remember John Barnes, Peter Beardlsey, Ian Rush, Graham Souness etc. when they were playing in your youth team. How many times have Liverpool broken the transfer record? Fact is that football teams have been buying the league for many years - we won't be the first and we certaintly won't be the last. Strange that Liverpool use this as an excuse for why they haven't won the title for so many years yet they have no explanantion for why Man United are the most successful premier league club - they have had no petro-millions or sugar daddy.

Problem with many Liverpool fans this season (and I'm not saying all) is that they started celebrating the title weeks ago. T shirts being printed (all over the internet), adverts for jobs for stewards on the open top bus tour and singing "were going to win the league" - no wonder the team was under pressure in the final games. This was coupled with a media frenzy - all the ex-Liverpool pundits saying how Liverpool deserved to win it, Stevie G deserved the title for his loyalty ..ad nauseum. But for me using the death of 96 innocent people as a motivational factor for winning the title was in very bad taste and I can't believe the club went down that route. I think most neutrals originally rooted for Liverpool but I think by the end of the season the behaviour of the fans/club coupled with the media love in swung opinion in the opposite direction. I don't blame any fans for being excited but there is a difference between excitement and arrogance - I would have associated this behaviour with Rags not Liverpool fan. Your team were on top and playing great football but surely some humility and quiet confidence wouldn't have gone amiss.

Spot on that. 100%.

So today makes it twice I have been physically threatened now for pointing out that the Hillsborough disaster and Manchester City winning the league are entirely independent of one another, one by a lad I've known for years - and he hadn't even had a pint (not that having been tanked up would have been excuse). I would hate them less if a very significant minority of them weren't part of a blind cult.

'YNWA'
'We go again'
'JFT96'

Typing this stuff out doesn't make anything happen, attempt to use reason and logic on them and it's like you've pee'd in their pint!

Physically threatened !! Christ...... Had a feeling it would be like this. You say you knew the lad too ? Mate there was literally only one option in this instance and that was to nut the little beaut. Right between the eyes on the crown of his nose. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.

Tbf we call them kopites of the northeast, which is pretty much a worse insult that anything they've said.
