Nice to see he's been getting penalty practice this year, because I'm guessing he'll need it

That Man United Vs Sunderland pen shoot out was awful, with pretty much every English player missing one. England is going to need Gerrard to be at his pen taking best

you love England don't ya Mikey

just curious. are you everton/England fans going to look at gerrard as an England player and cheer him if he scores does a good move etc or see him as Liverpool and hate everything he does. just to let you know as a wales fan I was behind every player even Liverpool ones.

Just posted this on my Facebook wall

Look Steven Gerrard, I don't like you and you don't like me. But, you're England captain, so I'll support you. Use the disappointment of failing to win the title as the kick up the bum you need to lead England to glory. You had a good season really. Take heart from it and deliver your best for the 3 Lions. I'll do my part by not despising you. Deal?

I'll even say something nice about you. You were rather good in the 2006 FA Cup Final. Liverpool wouldn't have won that match without you. It wasn't a half bad performance. I won't call it "The Gerrard Final" like, because I'd have to stop myself from vomiting. But yeah, you did well. Well done. *Pat on the back*

I'm glad you've had loads of penalties this season as well, good practice. At least I'm confident you'll slot yours if there's a shoot out.

A temporary cease fire then. All the best to you. Now don't slip on your backside and give the ball to Pirlo and everything will be golden

Thanks

Mike
No Kopites have replied as of yet

When England inevitably lose on pens in Brazil, the blow will be softened if Stevie becomes the next Waddle, Batty etc by missing the decisive kick, preferably with a Terryesque slip on his run up, just to prove lightening can strike twice.

No way will I be supporting England with that bugger as skipper.

This is why I don't bother much with international football.

I can't hate the likes of Gerard, Ashley Cole or John a Terry on weekly basis and then root for them when they play for England.

And if Oviedo baby had been fit to play in the a World Cup and him and Gerard went for the same ball and only one got up without a major injury, is there an English Evertonian out there wouldn't rather it was our guy?

I think not.

I like to see our lids get international recognition all right, but I can't support a team with maybe five Kopites playing in it.

No way.

I dashed off an email a while back bemoaning Tyler's 'commentary' of the EFC v MC game recently. I thought you might like to read the reply:

"Thank you for your email.

We are sorry that you were not happy with our coverage of Everton vs Manchester City on Saturday 3 May.

Our live coverage is designed to tell the story of a football match. A major storyline of the fixture was how an Everton win would boost Liverpool’s title winning chances and therefore the likely impact on the atmosphere at Goodison Park. This subject had also been debated across other parts of the media before the match.

Obviously it is our duty to inform our viewers of what is happening during the live coverage and only right that they discussed the atmosphere during the match, particularly considering our on-screen talent boast years of experience commentating and playing in big matches, including at Goodison Park. Again, this was consistent with other parts of the media where, for example, the words ‘flat’ ‘strange’ and ‘odd’ were used in match reports.

We are sorry that this affected your enjoyment of our coverage and we can ensure you that there is no bias either towards or against any particular club. We cover Everton extensively throughout the season on Sky Sports, including 11 live Premier League matches this season and of course on Sky Sports News and across our digital outlets.

Many thanks again

Sky Sports"

Here's my reply to this tosh:

"When Yaya Toure went down with an injury against Liverpool in the recent game at Anfield, Liverpool fans booed. Nothing was said. When they saw the injury was serious, they laughed and cheered. Nothing was said. When he went off, the Liverpool fans applauded, and Tyler started creaming his pants and dribbling all over his microphone about how 'sporting and knowledgeable' Liverpool fans are.

This isn't 'bias', this is downright distortion of the truth in order to appease their worldwide fanbase. It has been like this all season.

Of course, the media is infested with these LFC cult-member lunatics who are given free reign to ram their pro-racist, death-threat, violent propaganda down our throats.

No one outside of this cult are 'happy' with your coverage. LFC are worked into every conversation about football and almost every match.

Nice try, but not buying it."
Yeah I got the same one back ! pointed out lots of facts then told them to sick it up thier ar£$!!

Re RS bias on TV. Does anyone remember the incident where Alan Smith was trampled on and broke his leg. There was a nasty little bit of afters where Jan Arne Greaser managed to stamp on his leg.. they showed it just the once (live) but not at all on MOTD.. it was nicely airbrushed out of the equation - a bit like a horse being put down on a racecourse.. "it never happened"

Whilst the Krap sang Greaser's name.

and Lawrenson is ignoring the facts: "it was the power of the shot"
