ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I dashed off an email a while back bemoaning Tyler's 'commentary' of the EFC v MC game recently. I thought you might like to read the reply:

"Thank you for your email.

We are sorry that you were not happy with our coverage of Everton vs Manchester City on Saturday 3 May.

Our live coverage is designed to tell the story of a football match. A major storyline of the fixture was how an Everton win would boost Liverpool’s title winning chances and therefore the likely impact on the atmosphere at Goodison Park. This subject had also been debated across other parts of the media before the match.

Obviously it is our duty to inform our viewers of what is happening during the live coverage and only right that they discussed the atmosphere during the match, particularly considering our on-screen talent boast years of experience commentating and playing in big matches, including at Goodison Park. Again, this was consistent with other parts of the media where, for example, the words ‘flat’ ‘strange’ and ‘odd’ were used in match reports.

We are sorry that this affected your enjoyment of our coverage and we can ensure you that there is no bias either towards or against any particular club. We cover Everton extensively throughout the season on Sky Sports, including 11 live Premier League matches this season and of course on Sky Sports News and across our digital outlets.

Many thanks again

Here's my reply to this tosh:

"When Yaya Toure went down with an injury against Liverpool in the recent game at Anfield, Liverpool fans booed. Nothing was said. When they saw the injury was serious, they laughed and cheered. Nothing was said. When he went off, the Liverpool fans applauded, and Tyler started creaming his pants and dribbling all over his microphone about how 'sporting and knowledgeable' Liverpool fans are.

This isn't 'bias', this is downright distortion of the truth in order to appease their worldwide fanbase. It has been like this all season.

Of course, the media is infested with these LFC cult-member lunatics who are given free reign to ram their pro-racist, death-threat, violent propaganda down our throats.

No one outside of this cult are 'happy' with your coverage. LFC are worked into every conversation about football and almost every match.

Nice try, but not buying it."

That is a wonderful reply and absolutely 100% spot on !

I think this will scar Gerrard this title slip his slip the teams slip the clubs slip the managers slip the arrogant deluded fans slip. Love it they had it in the bag and the somehow lost it...... KARMA!
Its a thing of beauty that these chain of events have happened towards the end of his career. As with most things in life, you strangely only remember the ending. Especially when that ending is dramatic. This slip will now be the defining moment of his career and what he will most likely be remembered by. Forget the cups before, reputation, medals, England caps etc. When his name is mentioned, it will be ' Ha Ha That slip cost them didn't it, Stevie Slipard mate Ha Ha ' for many years to come.

Ever since Andy Gray stained his kecks with ' Ohhhhh you beautyyyyyy ' after Slipards goal against Olympiakos, the very mention of Andy Gray's name made me nauseous. For years every time i saw Gray on TV, heard his voice, saw his name, the first thing i would remember is the thunderous orgasm filled spat he came out with after THAT goal, the beaut !!

' Ohhhhhhhh you Beautyyyyyyyyyy ' is what rings in my head now after Slipards slippy slip slip, don't know why. I love Andy Gray again

Cheers

Nice to see he's been getting penalty practice this year, because I'm guessing he'll need it

That Man United Vs Sunderland pen shoot out was awful, with pretty much every English player missing one. England is going to need Gerrard to be at his pen taking best
