No mark Rodgers:

“We are one of the biggest clubs in the world - one of the great institutions in modern football.

“The Champions League was what we were all fighting for. It’s a wonderful platform for all the players and that opportunity is there now.

“We are playing at the highest level. We’re at the leading edge of the game playing a really exciting philosophy of football that people are looking at and admiring both at home and abroad."

...erm

One of the most notorioius institutions of modern football isn't quite the same, no mark.

Of course you were just fighting for a CL place. There there.

'A really exciting philosophy'. Only if your philosophy is "Punt it long to Luis, lad"...or its close relation..."Belt it long to Daniel, lad".

Rodgers: the most laughable fraud ever to hit top flight football. It'll all end in tears. Guaranteed.

they were 7th last year. one over achieving league season with nothing else to worry about does not all of a sudden put them at the top level, one of the best in the world etc. they need to do that consistantly before i spouts rubbish like this. he's setting all his deluded fans up for ultimate dissapointment. needs to keep his feet on the ground and play it cool after the season they've just had.

Oh come on, you're all being a bit harsh on Rodgers. He has the ear of 'Big Phil', who don't forget, asked him to keep an eye on the Brazilians in the premier league. I can just imagine the conversation, 'Big Phil you can't pick Coutinho he's crap, yes, really crap and as far as Lucas goes he's on the first boat out of here, not as good as Allen, the Welsh Xavi'.

Can't get my head around, why not one of the worldwide TV channels haven't signed up the saviour of football for world cup punditry. Strange the football world really.

Suarez has played Rodgers with the utmost contempt, calling him a liar, refused to apologise to the club, Rodgers and the fans.

Rodgers is all fur coat and no knickers, to quote a Northern Irish saying. He is an opportunist fraud of the highest order and his demise will be all the sweeter.

This feller covers Everton for the Echo.

How does that work?

They will be s••• next year. After Suarez leaves Brenda will bottle it ....oh, they did that already buahaha.
It is going to be an interesting season for both of us tbh.

Doubts whether each of our top goal scorers will be with the club, how the defensive midfields will look (gossip that Lucas Leiva may be on the block http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...e-lucky-to-survive-liverpools-summer-clearout) and of course how both clubs will cope with European competition. They have a good front line but a very poor back 4 and the reverse is true for us.

They have the advantage of money but could well face some problems with FFP and haven't recently done very well in their purchases/loans - we are not sure if we have any money and, if we do have it, if we'll spend it!

Looks like he bet a bit to much on Everton finishing 16th this season.

how? just how? it utterly baffles me, are people so stupid? surely you don't need to be a rocket scientist to know your career as a footballer is a lot shorter than your average worker, so you have to make sure you spread the money out accordingly. what can you spend money on that constitutes £20m? i really don't understand.

Suarez did apologise

Luis Suárez returned from the cold at Liverpool on Friday when he trained with the senior squad for the first time since accusing the club and Brendan Rodgers of breaking promises over his future. The striker was welcomed back at Melwood despite not offering a personal apology to the Liverpool manager.

Rodgers had ordered the Uruguay international to train away from the squad following his interview in the Guardian last week, when he stated his desire to join Arsenal and criticised Liverpool's stance over a £40m clause in his contract. The Liverpool manager insisted the punishment would not be lifted until Suárez apologised for his "total disrespect of the club" but it is understood he was allowed to rejoin training following positive talks with Rodgers, although not a direct apology.

Divorce, tax bills, for 2. And I mean tax bills when you have invested in a scheme/scam that is supposed to shelter tax, but HMRC later decide was actually a scam. Loads of examples of footballers being stitched up like that.

The more money people earn the more they spend. It's easy to spend £20m when you're living the footballer lifestyle.

if you're a moron.

every footballer believes they need 5 sports cars a five story house (just for themselves) with an in built gym, jacuzzi, their own snooker table etc.? i've watched cribs mate, people don't have to live like that, they chose to.

they don't HAVE to dine at the fanciest restaurant and eat out every single night, they'd get better value for money for getting a £10 two course meal based on my experiences. they don't have to take 3 expensive 5 star holidays a year.

i will never have sympathy for anyone who spunks £20m by the age of 43, it shouldn't happen. people like gillespie, how can you lose money on gambling when you're a premiership footballer playing for man united? what the hell do you need to bet for?
