Definitely not Rodgers then. Although he'd have you believe that he turned him from a pitbull terrier in to a majestic greyhound. Or something.

He started slotting for fun around the time Rodgers came in. I wouldn't put that down to Rodgers like. Suarez was coming into his peak at the time and he continued to play the same way, but sorted his finishing out.

Previously he'd been so wasteful in front of goal that in summer 2012 you wouldn't have to search hard to find kopites that would tell you Jelavic was better than Suarez.

Really?

I thought he [Poor language removed] himself when Suarez put a gun to his head and said he wanted out. He caved in and bribed Suarez to stay with an extortionate new contract.

Well considering he only ever had eyes for the exit he did a great job keeping hold of him IMO.

It probably didnt help that Arsenal caved in so easy, I think they lost the will for the fight, if they pushed it with a few higher bids they could have pushed it through with the rats help, but they left him out to dry.

Saurez didn't really want out, he merely needed to move from Liverpool to foreign shores to escape the English media. Arsenal was apparently ideal for this.

That being said, to say Rogers caved is harsh, okay so he stated that Suarez would never play again until he apologised, then let him play again every week without apologising, giving him a massive pay rise, backing the racism, biting and diving, ignoring what he said when on international duty and bowed to his every whim...

But he clearly stood his ground on Suarez and led by example, and is a man of principles that can keep his dignity and humility intact, well in the same way Gerrard and Suarez has anyway.

The official Liverpool FC response to the anniversary of Heysel

Their dismisive reasoning for 39 dead...

Instead of leaving Brussels having seen our team lift a fifth European Cup, Reds fans travelled back to England having witnessed the deaths of 39 football supporters - including 32 Italian fans of Juventus, four Belgians, two from France and one man from Northern Ireland - following the collapse of a wall.

They make it sound like a bit of the stadium just fell down and killed a load of people, like their only involvement was as the opposition.

lol,

there's still a lot of them who think baines is average and glenn johnson is better than coleman etc. they're too bitter to accept when our players are better than theirs.

The best bit is 'Sterlung running at a panicked Jordi Alba, Henderson chasing down a tired Schweinsteiger' - is that the same Henderson who couldnt put a tackle on a 34 year old Pirlo. The same Alba and Schweinsteiger who between them have a european championship, two champions league and a billion league titles. Of course, a bit of fast running and energy will do for them. Utter morons, I hope the champions league shows them up for the frauds they are. Even in one of the weakest prems ever with one of the best in the world up front for them theystill finished second behind a team in transition shorn of Aguero nearly all season. Jog on.

It also makes out their fans were victims, having to witness such horrific events unfold before their eyes.

It really is disgusting the way Heysel is glossed over by that shower.

They've perfected damage limitation to an art form. Heysel is only one of the reflections of this. Talk about "admit nothing...explain nothing...apologise for nothing". Though I reckon the intellect to do any of them is debatable. Cross reference this with the way they carry themselves even beyond the Rafael Cardinals/shirt burning - an excess of self worth...an absence of self respect and you have the perfect personification of one of life's truisms..... Kopites, indeed, are G*******s

I liked this comment in the DM........if it was from someone on GOT, well done.......

So according to the media, liverpool is now TV money Champions, Viewer count champions, penalty goals champions, "if-only-english players-goals-counts" Champions, "Fair play" champions. Surely this deserves an open-top bus celebration.

On winning the fair play league......

Rodgers paid credit to his playing squad and staff for their exemplary behaviour: 'We are delighted to top the Fair Play League at the end of one of our most successful seasons in recent history,' he said.

'Our fans, players and staff make up what we like to call the world's greatest football family and as part of that we look to uphold the club's values which include unity, dignity and commitment, which have been shown throughout the season.'

He is such an introvert..........
