Oh yes! That just about nails box head Gerrard very nicely.

Well said that man.

On Saturday after the game, I took to Facebook and posted the following "People will single out individuals, Rooney will be the obvious scapegoat, Baines getting flak despite the fact that he had no actual left midfielder in front of him. You win and lose as a team, but if Gerrard is our talisman and the man to lead as captain look no further, get some younger legs in there ASAP, he's done at this level"

Naturally I was called a "bitter blue" by one knuckle dragger and my opinions according to 4 Liverpol fans were apparently completely obsurd. Hence this article has made me feel completely vindicated.

I had even suggested that Henderson should be the player in that role as he has a good engine and younger legs could do more of a job.

But then again, I had offered contrary opinion that St Steven might not be up to the job so naturally I was shot down in flames....very badly! :)

The only natural holding midfielder that England have has been left out - Gareth Barry. We all know he would have covered our defence on Saturday.

I can remember when some kopites were questioning their talisman in recent seasons even on RAWK..."hes lost it...hasn't got the pace to bomb forward...etc". Its certainly smoke and mirrors from Rodgers who is nothing if predictable in his blind exaggeration of Gerrard's capabilities..... 'best attacking midfield player...best controlling player... best holding player'....he cant be all of them, Bren. For England, it looks like he cant even be ANY of them.

I agree, Gerrard and Suarez are out and out nobs as well as a few others but lumping Sturridge in just because he's a red diminishes the point. Up to this point he's doing nothing wrong other than play for them.

Your honour, I'd like to submit exhibit A into evidence:

I actually can't believe i just read this -

The Kopite bellend blaming Baines for Rooney's performance, wrong way round ya tit.
He's basically just called Baines a coward for not confronting Rooney about his positioning, without having the foggiest idea what Hodgson's instructions were to Baines.

Also, I find it hard to take seriously someone who had to get their mates to confront Lucas Neill for him accusing Baines of failing to have a word with Rooney.
