ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I've not bothered posting on the match thread for last night, all that needs saying has been said, but I will share this gem from my evening in the company of Ingerlund. "THEY NEED TO GET IT UP TO GERRARD!!"

This is what we're up against. Our gang just looked at them, and looked at each other in disbelief, where do you even start with that level of idiocy.

Danny Mills:

Against Uruguay, it was almost the same. Johnson doesn't get tight enough to the cross and Suarez moves off Jagielka. The second goal was shocking, it was a flick-on from Gerrard, there was nothing he could do, but Baines, Jagielka and Cahill were all over the shop. There was no defensive shape or organisation at all.

This is absolute crap. It's like when a keeper misses a kick and it rolls over their foot and goes in, or any number of mistakes Bramble made in his heyday. It happens in football, but it doesn't mean it's not a mistake. I was angrier after the match about how consciously the media were ignoring Gerrard than I was with the result.

I thought it may have just been bias on my part, but I've since spoken to Leeds and Norwich fans who echoed my sentiments and then some. How Gerrard escapes absolute vilification in the media is beyond me (well it's not beyond me, it's just ridiculous).

There was a shape ffs, they had stepped up to catch Suarez off side. If it wasn't for Gerrard's lazy touch then it would've been the perfect play.

I like the way conjecture based snort faced 'articles' like this are never open for comment. No balls whatsoever.

7 on there now. It's produced the Pavlovian response from the cult it was designed to stimulate.

Kopites played like a violin...as per ----->

Nobody in his right mind should be serious enough to listen to what Roy Hodgson has to say! I felt that the English FA was wrong in hiring him because of how he handled Liverpool! Now because of what he had said made Suarez that little bit more determine to prove Roy Hodgson wrong!

I very much fear LS is soon going to be a 'former Liverpool player'. And, in another vein, thanks, Roy!

Steven Gerrard's display against Uruguay was so bad that Spanish newspaper AS refused to give him a rating

  • Gerrard's display so bad that Spanish paper AS refused to give him rating
  • French sports paper L'Equipe also only award him 3/10 for his display
  • 2-1 defeat to Uruguay puts England on the verge of World Cup exit
  • Luis Suarez scores twice with Gerrard playing role in both goals conceded

Ha Ha Ha

I found these comments from that page very funny yet very true.

' The only paper who have given an accurate analysis of his performance it seems '

' what a legend...two moments of magic from the great stevie g and he kicks 2 teams out of the competition...1st liverpool with one magnificent slip he makes sure they dont win the premier league...2nd england with one great back pass he kicks england out of the world cup.....absolute legend...so what if both were his own teams...u just cant ignore the impact he made...legend...'

'His club manager and fans would have you believe he's the English equivalent to Pirlo. His mistakes lost him a premier league title and have possibly put England out of the world cup early. But he's still world class because he scored 12 penalties and used to score screamers'

' This is very unfair he shouldnt have even got a dash ' lol
