Finally someone has discovered Gerrards on/off switch - Well in Woy

He's a weird combination Gerrard, he's obviously got a massive ego, but hugely fragile as well. Regardless of the age of his legs and his limited ability (which were big factors) I think the baggage he carried into this tournament from the Liverpool collapse was huge, now with this debacle piled on he could have a horrific season next year. Remember after 98 when Beckham was vilified, I always thought he showed character to see that through, got his head down and worked to get the fans back on side. Just don't think slippy has that kind of fortitude or charm. He'll be shielded by LFC to an extent but if the opposition smell blood I reckon his head'll go week in week out.

The self important statement out of Gerard concerning his future as England captain.

"The stories about my making a decision on my international future are wide of the mark."

Comical stuff. A dud of an international player and a coward of a captain.

Anyone would think his slip in April and his slip up in June have been totally forgotten

"Im hurting very badly. Im broken". Well he allowed that to be the case since Chelsea and Palace and didnt "park" the pain as the shrink advised him to. I suppose the "Im not going to make a decision now because it will look as though its all my fault and I screwed up again" got lost in the transcript. Another stage managed am-dram from old Fakeheart.

Roy doesn't want to upset the media by kicking Gerard out.

lose lose.

he made the correct decision by going with baines for cole and everyone's moaning he's made the wrong one. terry has retired from england and roy is still getting it in the neck for not picking him.

if he drops gerrard, it's blatantly the correct decision, england will fail to do anything of note because they don't have the players and yet roy will be vilified because some mercurial beings will pump the line "we would have done better with gerrard"

if he didn't bottle the move to chelsea he wouldn't have had to go through so much pain

Can't believe The Stevie Me - I need more time to tell the nation whether I'll carry on or not - really is the most ego centred [Poor language removed] in the world! Seriously I'd fear for him without the limelight, it's waive ring as it is, absolute bulb!

The most self obsessed footballer this nation has ever seen.

Even Beckham could put the team first at times

Beckham as an international footballer towers over Gerrard. Never a great, but he led that England team by example. Gerrard: if you were a squad member at this world cup you couldn't fail to see how hopeless he's been as a teammate and even worse as a captain.

Must be sad for slippy realising that his final assist for the rat was the one that knocked his country out. Afterall I cannot see Real or Barca being interested in pairing the 2 of them up next season.
