Promised myself I'd swerve RAWK over the summer..and afterwards tbh, just got fed up by the idiots.

BUT couldn't resist a peek at their opinion on the Suarez transfer... apparently he's really good but the main man is B-ROD, he's the REAL reason Suarez is so good and he'll buy replacements just as good, he's the best at getting the best out of players etc. Noticeably most of them are loathe to bring up his transfer skillz, commenting more on his Jedi like ability to get players like Henderson to go from below mediocre to crushingly mediocre.

They will struggle to make top 6 if he goes, might even struggle to get out of their CL group too.

He goes and they lose 30 goals, Sturridge becomes half the player, then there's the rest of the squad, Agger, Skrtl, Johnson, all coming up to 30, Gerrard is finished, Lucas is too..but he wasn't very good anyway, Allen lol, Borini lololol, Aspas.....etc... they just aren't very good.

Apparently England have failed Gerrard according to Martin Samuel.

What a crappy article that is. Gerrard has failed England time and time again not the other way round

So, even in this boring wannabe 'edgy' nonsense he's still having to go back over a decade for most of Gerrard's 'star performances' for Liverpool.

The more I think about him the more I think Fergie was right. Actually I've always thought that but not just not a top top player but not even a top player.

If he was that great surely they'd have won a bit more.

He was "Great" when Alonso was along side him

They'll be delighted in a way when Suarez pulls his kecks down and shits all over them....they'll say he was forced out by dee Ingush meeja and that they've been denied a defo title this season.

I came to the conclusion a while back that that lot would rather have a good moan and retain their victim status than actually win a big trophy.

Ok, Lineker rightly states there that it was "a schoolboy error" from Gerrard for the second Suarez goal....so why didn't he immediately jump in and state that in the studio post match when those pair of self important bell ends Seedorf and Henry exonerated Gerrard completely for that goal and blamed Jagielka?

Lineker really needs to grow a pair in the company of these people. He defers way too easily to them.

Lineker probably thinks he can have his own opinions off air as opposed to when hes the studio anchorman for the match coverage. The article is based on quotes he gave to a website over there. You rarely get anchormen directly opposing the 'on a pedestal' pundits live on air...dont want to upset them... though they encourage arguing the toss between the pundits themselves. One of the reasons I don't watch the post match babble.

I don't suppose anyone caught any of 5live this morning? I think it was Graham Taylor, and they were asking him about Gerrard and whether he'll retire etc. Was just utterly cringeworthy how much Taylor crawled up Gerrards arse, talking about him being not only a brilliant footballer but a brilliant person. How he's got this reputation and seems virtually untouchable and beyond criticism is beyond me.

He is an amazing person. Let's just brush the Gerrard families links with gangsters and being caught on film beating up a DJ with his scally mates to one side.

He's a great bunch of lads.

The media spoke about Jimmy Savile pretty much the same way. They knew what he was and went as far as to look you in the eye and lie to protect him. It's what they do.

How did Martin Samuel get that job? (asked Mikey).

He is a protector of the elite.

Yeah but look at what happened to Colin Murray. Got the boot for challenging Alan Hansen too often.

I think the best chairs are those that force others to justify their comments and present an alternative view. That was THE moment of the WC for England and Seedorf, Henry and Rio were able to simply state that a defender should have been anticipating Gerrard's mistake and that he was in no way responsible for the goal conceded. With that sort of unanimity over something so ambiguous it was Lineker's duty to jump in and offer an alternative view...especially if that was what he actually thought was the cause in any case.

People/viewers respond to that and it strengthens the chair's position. Instead, Lineker just rolled over and left the defenders to carry the can.
