ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

This is a very good point, not so much that he will miss a few games now, but that he's bound to do something mental again. He's got maybe 3 or 4 years left of his prime, what club is going to pay £64m on a player that likely will get banned for at least a year of that??
It really is amazing that you can write that and no-one can say that you are talking rubbish.

I read one page of that mate and stopped. They absolutely disgust me mate they really do. I've got mates and family and a wife who support the RS and the minute they talk in their us against the world babble I put them in their place. There's a post on their which mentions religion but mimmicks cultish behaviour I can't believe how that forum hasn't been burned to the ground. They argue amongst themselves justifying it, lads, dads and brothers yet I show my 5 year old son what he done and ask him is that acceptable and he says "no dad, that's disgusting". That's not just an Evertonian talking, that's a lad who understands right from wrong and I worry about the mental state of that shower when they can spend so much on energy on trying to justify why he does it.

I know. But you know he will, he will bite someone or do something to further disqualify himself from the human race. That has to be taken into account in his transfer price. You think ajax would have sold him for so cheap if he wasn't such a ticking time bomb?

So 4 months ban which is basically 2 and 1/2 months game time. It's like saying your kid is expelled from school for 4 weeks during the summer holidays !. The fact he started feeling his gnashers after the bite is the clearest sign it was pre meditated. It never worked with ivanovic but it will now. Probably at a reduced fee. Let's hope.

Just as a comparison I've found a thread here when Arteta poked Pederson in the eye. Not even close to the severity of a bite (let alone a third one) but largely everyone was in agreement that we were very lucky he got a yellow card so the FA couldn't do anything and that it deserved a ban.

Why is it we can hold our hands up and admit a player's done wrong and those lot across the park can't? I'm sure they really are a different species to the rest of us.
If you could see the video you would concur with me that Pedersen actually pushed his eye into Arteta's finger. If it was someone else other than Arteta we wouldn't even be discussing this.

But...but...what about elbows, what about leg breaking tackles, what about head butts, what about Roy Keane, what about Cantona...rinse repeat.

They seem to be classing this bite as an isolated occasion totally choosing to forget that the other two instances have contributed to the ban. He's a liability who can't really be trusted on a football field. He hasn't learned his lesson after two bans for the same offence equalling 17 games...nobody has mentioned that this ban could be to protect fellow professionals. How can a man who can't control himself be trusted? He should be required to pass a psyche test before he's allowed back. Seriously.

This incident has nothing to do with Liverpool FC whatsoever, and therefore there's no justification in punishing LFC as FIFA is doing.

This is actually a resemblance to the 6 years ban for English clubs, from European competitions in the 1980'ies. But England were far from the only country in European football at that time, where the so called 'hooligans' were raiding across Europe.

But at the time, Liverpool were the dominant team in Europe, so the ban went only to English clubs, - and once again Liverpool FC were punished.

This whole 'it has nothing to do with LFC as he done it when playing for Uruguay' does my head in. If he stabbed a feller in the street and got sent to prison for a few years, would they appeal to have him let out for Premier League matches as he's not done it while wearing a rs kit? FFS

Poor, poor Libberpewl, being punished for something they didn't do...

I hope they can take heart from the fact that we, Norwich, West Ham, Coventry, Man Utd, Notts Forest, Southampton, Spurs, Chelsea, Sheffield Wednesday, QPR, Arsenal, Luton & Derby know EXACTLY how it feels to be in that position.

They should sue... someone.

I think you mean "as he was in sleep in bed at the time".

Stupid question. Of course they would.
