Hoping TRS do a Spurs is wishful thinking IMO.

They are in a much stronger position than Spurs were.

How so?

Spurs were a better team than they were before Bale left.

They went on a trolley dash with their windfall in much the same way Brent is doing now and the latter is not making his team any better as far as I can see.

As others have said, a one man team is not the better for selling its one man

TRS are in a better position with transfers because they are playing CL football next season and it's clear Rodgers is in charge of who they buy. Whereas, with Spurs they didn't have CL football and Baldini, Levy and AVB all have different ideas.

Surely it doesn't make a difference if Rodgers is in charge instead of Baldini as they both have no clue when it comes to transfers?

They may well be in the CL but thus far their signings have been less than spectacular.

On paper, Soldado was a much more promising looking signing than Big Lambo is.

Lamela would have been regarded as a better bet than Lallana.

And there is absolutely no chance they will sign a midfielder of Christian Eriksen's ability.

But the fatal flaw in your argument is this fact that Brent is to br given total control of the transfer policy.

Good luck with that one, John Henry :)

Hindsight is 20/20; if Spurs were buying their Bale replacements this summer then there's scarcely a football fan on the planet who'd say that Liverpool were signing the better players.

Soldado > Lambert
Eriksen > Lallana
Paulinho > Can
Chadli = Markovic
Capoue = OR > Lovren

And Suarez is more important to them than Bale was to Spurs.

Paulinho is awfull, I like Can and at £8 million thats a good deal,

Chadli is also poor, Markovic is 5 years younger and better.

Capoue is also a Midfielder, Lovren is a quality Centra back. Crazy comparison.

Nobody was saying that Chadli and Paulinho were poor this time last year. Which was my point. There was no other midfield signing i could compare Capoue to. Lovren was part of a defence that conceded 5 fewer goals than WEst Ham. He's ridiculously overrated.

Paulinho is far from awful. They paid just shy of £10m for Can, and he's looked nothing special when I've seen him

Chadli was £7m, they're going to shell out more than 3 times that for Markovic, who's record is hardly stunning. They're gambling on potential for £25m.

Lovren can't pass wind mate, he's a decent defender but £20M+? lol, carry on Brent.

FFS why are people flapping about these lot?
Last year the football gods handed them the title on a silver tray and they still managed to slip and drop it
B-rods tactical genius blew everyone out the water and Slippys leadership held them together in the run in
Next season will see the other top 3 improve the squads plus Spurs,Man u and ourselves hopefully,as for the new signing
is anybody overly impressed by them?
