Any of them crack the starting XI for Everton? Seriously? I'm not sure I'd take any of them over what we got...or are my blue tinted goggles extra blue today?

I was thinking about this as well. MArkovic could be a great player but could possibly be another Brent special.

Last season Howard was better than Mignolet. Given the American's performances at the WC there's no reason to suppose this will change next season.

Back 4 - All Everton. No comment necessary.

Midfield - McCarthy and Barry are both better than either Gerrard or Henderson. Besic and Gibson offer better back up than Lucas and Allen.

Wingers - Sterling is ok i guess but wouldn't snap anyone's hand off if they offered a straight swap with Mirallas. Really like McGeady, think he's very underrated.

Attacking midfielders - Barkely is the best from either squad. Coutinho would make a better reserve than Osman.

Strikers - Lukaku is comfortably the best.

Can't see anyway we finish below them. Better team, better squad, better youngsters, better manager.

I'm as big a blue as any but this made me laugh.

If it were an RS compiling the same list he would have the exact opposite to you.

Someone has got it wrong somewhere. Would be interesting to ask a neutral to judge the 2 squads.

You must be on our forum to remind us all that we will be nothing without the loans we had last season.

Not at all mate. There is nothing wrong with testing before you buy, you don't have budget of some clubs so why not be smart and use the system?? the loan market is there for reason its not like its cheating.

Personal thought i be told to got to this thread so thought would ask here first.

Good signing Lukaku will be interesting who else you bring in now, and most importantly now you're broke the bank will this become the norm?(not 28m sign every season but decent amount between 15-20)

I read within 2/3 season going be new TV deal that will blow this one out the water so surely that be massive for funds for you guys(along with everyone else of course)

His ability to pick a player from range to launch the counter attack, McCarthy doing the running to get the ball back.
To pick a player from range ?

Gerrard success rate from range was 77% last season. Leon Osman was 80%. Even the player you picked to play alongside Gerrard in that team, McCarthy had a higher success rate of completed range passes.

Match of the day Gerrard is not who the real Gerrard is these days. I wouldn't have him in that team, not anymore.

His range passes are simply better, quicker and to feet, you can stat me all you like, but if you watch him, most of the counters involve Gerrard picking the lock from 30 yards, even if he does fail a few times before it arrives.

Osmans may well involve cross field balls or balls back to defence from range. What is the definition of a long range pass?

Gerrard as hard as it is for me to say, hit his target from range a few times splitting City apart last night, City of course were better overall, but he was still dangerous setting play going and launching counters.
