ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I was thinking about this as well. MArkovic could be a great player but could possibly be another Brent special.

Last season Howard was better than Mignolet. Given the American's performances at the WC there's no reason to suppose this will change next season.

Back 4 - All Everton. No comment necessary.

Midfield - McCarthy and Barry are both better than either Gerrard or Henderson. Besic and Gibson offer better back up than Lucas and Allen.

Wingers - Sterling is ok i guess but wouldn't snap anyone's hand off if they offered a straight swap with Mirallas. Really like McGeady, think he's very underrated.

Attacking midfielders - Barkely is the best from either squad. Coutinho would make a better reserve than Osman.

Strikers - Lukaku is comfortably the best.

Can't see anyway we finish below them. Better team, better squad, better youngsters, better manager.

You forgot about Big Lambo....surely he would walk into our team.....:pint2:

Meanwhile...cue the opening bars of Patsy Cline singing "Crazy"......RAWK is still festering over Ross committing to us

Re: Ross Barkley

They're just making sure they get a good price for him when the goes to City to sit on the bench next to the other kid they sold there who faded into obscurity.

Yeah Barkley will never play for Liverpool, he'll be a hardened embittered blueshite by now and probably beyond redemption.
He's also at the age where the hatred for us is very real and any common sense is diluted by bitterness from never seeing them lift a trophy.
Hope he stays at Everton at least until his mid 20's to be honest rather than rot on the bench at City or United or Chelsea etc.

If we offered him CL football, double the wages and the ability to stay at home with his family I think he'd be well up for it

Barkley wouldnt even get a game for us so its not an issue.

haha, yeah he'd never get a place in the RS starting XI ahead of Global superstars like The Welsh Xavi, Der best DM in da Wurrld Lucas and Horrenderson.

Guess where this came from?

Lukaku lacks ambition.
If he was ambitious he would have stayed at Chelsea.
Astonishing

Sitting on the bench, picking up a wedge and getting the odd 10 minutes in games is now classed as ambitious. Breaking the trend and signing for the team that not only wants him, but a team that he identifies as taking him to the next level ability wise, is seen as lacking it.........

Christ almighty.

Who wrote that? David Fairclough?

If I was Gerrard, next season I would wear brown shorts.

.................Sturridge/Lukaku (pretty close imo)
Mirallas.......Barkley........Sterling
............Gerrard......McCarthy
Baines..Distin.....Jagielka.....Coleman
......................Howard

About right, Sturridge edges Lukaku for me but he's a few years older to be fair to Rom. It'll be interesting to see if him and Sterling will be anywhere near as effective without Suarez, but purely on last season Sterling probably should be in their. I wouldn't put Gerrard in a midfield pairing, so Barry or Henderson (I rate him) for me there. The back 5 needs no explanation.

Interestingly if we were to play more direct/Gerrard-Ball, you could say:

Sturridge---Lukaku
Barkley
Henderson----McCarthy
Gerrard
Baines Distin Jags Coleman
Howard

That looks a good setup to be honest, good defence, lots of goals. Martinez as manager of course.

Gerrard can't keep his mouth shut and silikes being out of the media. In every paper today there was the story "I persuaded Luiz to not go to Arsenal but stay at Liverpool until a big offer comes in from Bayern, Real or Barca, so Liverpool are not a big club. Gerrard hyped up Suarez but omitted in his talk:-

He was a dirty player committing fouls everywhere and playing the innocent,
He was a diver,
He bites other players,
His big suspensions,
His lies ala World Cup,
He is a scumbag of the first order,

Just shows how scewed they are over at Anfield. Gerrad is a dick.
